Has anyone install a WD Scorpio Blue
Model: WD2500BEVT-22A23T0
Using the HDD Hacker Tool?

Everthing seems to go correct until I get the the Partition Section and nothing seems to work it does not see the drive and nothing is highlighted.

In Device Manager I can see the drive as the converted drive so the flashing process is working.

So has anyone converted the above drive?
and do you have any suggestions?

Thanks Richard

And did you remove power from the drive, wait 10 seconds then connect the drive and then run the partition functions ?

Yes I removed the power for the 10 seconds. I tired this on 2 laptops and 1 desktop computer with same results on all 3 computers

I made sure I have the lastest X360USB PRO F/W, The Hdd Hacker Tool is at the lastest F/W.

I never saw the Eeprom Up to Date, but I am at Version 0.18

I have Flashed and then tired to partition then undo the flash back to orginal. Did the whole process again. I made sure I disconnected the power for the 10 seconds each time it asked for it. Am I missing a support file or something.

I am running windows vista with service pack 2.
When ever the drive is flashed I can see it in device manager with the proper label whether it flash as WD or the Hitachi HTS545025B9SA00

At this point I am stuck. When I get the the Partition section it doesnt see the drive I hit rescan and nothing happens except the log drops down one line an I believe the X360 USB PRO flashes blue on the one end for about 5 seconds.

I used the HDDSS_250GB.bin That should be the right file for the 250 gb drive.

Thanks Richard

I think you have to rename the hddss_250gb.bin into hddss.bin

But I am not sure!!

Restart windows and press F8 and disable driver signature then update the x360 pro should work after that. Worked for me

Please make absolutely sure that you have full administrator rights to the machine.

You will not have rights to do this at any other level.

the embedded manifest should request you run as administrator in any case.... But right click exe and select "Run as Administrator"

I tried this yesterday about 4 times it did not help. I never noticed that on the f8 startup before. I will try again. I even deleted the x360usb pro, then restarted and installed and tried it same result nothing works in the partition window. I even tried the rescan and nothing. Thanks for the suggestion

Thank You, for this PDF Guide, It was Awesome. I followed this before I used the X360 HDD Tool and all worked out well.

Anyone getting that stupid 0X2A Error, use this guide and all will be well. I just did mine and Tested all Working. Shows up on 360 with 228GB.

Thank you vegettoxp for completely stealing this topic from the original user with the problem not related to yours of course. I had been looking all over to try to find a solution for this exact problem but found nothin and the one thread was this one which was disregarded as vegettoxp posted his was fixed (besides the fact that vegettoxp obviously didnt have the problem needed to be fixed. The solution to the problem is basically to stop using the x360usb hdd hacker tool and download hddhackr which is the ms-dos based program. Look up youtube tutorials and follow them making sure you flash the drive with the proper firmware then restart and create partitions using hddhackr as well. By using this program I didnt have any issues with the partitioning of the drive and it works perfectly fine. I'm assuming the problem is a small glitch which could be a combination of driver problem, hard drive compatibility issues, operating system issue, and the x360usb hacker tool software. If you use hddhackr you shouldn't have any issues just have to do a bit more work.
