View Full Version : Phatkey failure please help

gandalf1972
13th May 11, 20:49
Operating system:
Window 7 32 bit
Jungle Flasher 1.82

What kit I am using:
360usb pro, ck3 pro, external power molex, ck3 probe(Probe does not have any voltage selectors on it just the spring switch) liteon 74850c drive

To confirm light is blue as per picture on the ck3 pro and on the x360 usb pro there is a red light on next to sata cable ld6 and ld1 green led. On the 360 usbpro switch is set to no portio

Drive was previously flashed (think it was v1.51 but not sure) however, I have lost the key / dummy file.

Just to confirm the usb driver was updated in device manager.

http://team-xecuter.com/forums/showthread.php?t=61803

I get to step 4 and it tells me it phat key extracted ok then when you power off the usbpro and release the probe from the spot and then click ok to go to the next step it pops up with a fail error message phatkey failed

The only difference that I can see from the picture of drive apart from firmware is that the key is "NOT FOUND" (no probe in). It is set to 0x0000.

I am not sure if I have got the drive half way out which may be causing the issue?

I am not sure if the push down on the probe 3 should be a set way.

This instruction here does not seem to work for me “Hold CK3 Probe 3 Button down (LED OFF), connect the Probe to MPX01 (push the probe firmly to the MPX01 point so that it's a solid connection), release CK3 Probe 3 Button (LED ON)”

When I press down on the switch the probe light does not go off so I have to switch off drive and then remove probe wait 5 seconds and then click the ok button.

Also to confirm I had firmly pressed down the pin to confirm contact is full with MPX01 in the centre of it.

This is the log file

PhatKey extraction failed!

The only time the light goes out is if it is turned off. When I depress the spring button nothing seems to happen. I thought the probe 3 was supposed to have voltage selectors as well. This probe 3 does not seem to have anything other than the led on it and logo.

Just noticed that my 360 firmware is v0.18

Should the probe 3 have voltage and a button on it or have I got a new design?

Anyone any idea where I am going wrong ?

Thanks in advance

if it has 1.51 on it then just use dummy by ixtreme and no the probe v3 does not have voltage selection.

I watched the video of the flash and think something is not right in what I done.

I done the liteon erase and this point is where I think it went wrong.

It then would not let me get to the next step. This morning I tried again this time using the video that shows you how to do it from already flashed drive.

I load up the firmware (open source firmware)
I then clicked on the mtk tab and checked that the port was at 0x0000 but it said where the drive should be that it was not detected.

Lights are red for ld6 and green at ld1 on 360usbpro and blue led on ck3pro and tray half open. It now says that drive is not detected when clicking on the dvd tab.

Any idea what has happened?

Thanks in advance.

You will have to re-introduce the intro. Get the correct port on JF and press intro/Device id. Follow instructions. Turn drive off/on within 1 second. and it should now be in 0 x 72 Status. Ready to be flashed.

Return the drive to stock and restart.

If you have had ixtreme 1.5 on your drive. You should return the drive to stock and then proceed to flash as normal.

LT+ 1.1 and Jungleflasher does not allow spoofing. It is trying to copy the original firmware on the drive, Hence the 1.5.

Get the stock firmware from the official ixtreme site.

Follow instructions as per normal but use the stock firmware, and send the outro. Check to ensure that the drive reads your originals but not your backups.

Now you should be able to put LT+ 1.1 on the drive

do the erase again, and this time wait about three dots before you power cycle. i think your power cycle is where you went wrong.
but, if your drive wont eject anymore, you may need to erase and then write your cfw in dosflash.

Thanks for the replies.

Current status is the drive wont eject. Inside the jf under the mkflash tab it shows as in vendor mode 0x72

I would just like to take this opportunity to highlight a couple of things in case anyone else has the same issues as myself.

Before I highlight the issue I was having I would like to take the time to express my thanks and patience to a fellow member of this board who took time out of his day to remote into my pc and help recover the situation for me.

I am extremely thankful for his kind help and support he showed today.

Thanks very much Dale!! (daleh43) a true gent and credit to this forum.

Thanks to everyone else who tried to help I am very new to this and really struggled. I tried to follow the guide and where I went wrong was in switching off the drive at the wrong point. I waited for the dots to appear when I should have just switched it on/off straight away - what can I say a total noob fail but if we dont fail then we dont always learn.

Thanks
