This one took me AGES to do as I wanted it to be as noob-proof as possible. I hope it helps a lot of you. It really is the definitive tutorial on how to crack the case open without any fuss.

Missed the part where you HAVE TO remove the DVD eject button before removing the top case. :D
and a mention of MS sticker would be nice as some peeps prefer to keep it intact.

It is very easy to remove the sticker such that it does not void your warranty.
You must have a clean long-bladed box-cutter to do this.
It is also slightly easier if you heat up the sticker using a hair dryer.
1. Heat up the sticker slightly.
2. Heat up the knife slighty and extend the blade at leat 10cm (4 inches).
3. Slowly (about 2mm per second) slide the blade (end of the blade) under the sticker - from the bottom part towards the case join in the middle (this is important). You also need to apply a little bit of pressure towards the case as you do this (so the blade is right against the case).
4. You do not need to remove the whole sticker - only half (important as their is far less chance of screwing the sticker this way!)
5. When you reach the join in the case (where the two halves meet) bend the stick out on about an 80-degree angle from the case.
6. Remove the blade gently but hold the sticker on this angle by leaning it on a finger for about 5 seconds.
7. Slowly let the sticker go (important as this will ensure it doesn't re-stick to the case!).
8. Know when you open the case the sticker will remain in one piece (I know as I have opened about three hundred 360s!)

hey everyone just want to say hello as a new member and ask a quick question i have the VIA VT6421A Serial ATA RAID PCI Controller Card in my pc. I have a Philips/BenQ/LiteOn VAD6038 360 drive I was just wondering if anyone could tell me if i need to also purches the Connectivity Kit 3. I have downloaded 1.51 Firmware and tools "Winrar" unpacked it and i have Benq iXtreme_v1.51-FINAL, JungleFlasher v0.1.51 Beta, Iprep. and other programs
There may be other tools that could help. But thus far, I've heard nothing but good things about the CK3 pro and probe. It'll run you about $60-$70 bucks, but its user friendly, and you don't have to worry that you'll need something else while trying to flash the lite-on.

I'm a total n00b at messing with game systems. I want to fix my RROD problem but I'm concerned about actually getting the system back together once I've dissected it. Could you make it tutorial that goes through a reassembly of the 360 from where you end the disassemble tutorial?
I've been looking but I've so far only found ways to open it up not put it back together again.
real easy - follow the tutorial backwards ;)
