Liteon is the prefers drive at present it is said to be the most acurate.

Running XBC on 64-bit windows 7 its different again you need to put MSCOMCTL.OCX into C:\Windows\SysWOW64 folder.
Run command prompt as Administrator and ether type or copy and paste this in >>> Regsvr32 c:\windows\SysWOW64\MSCOMCTL.OCX if anyone needs it > Here.

i spent days looking for this info. it would be great if it were added to the op. especially since there are more and more 64 bit os's these days.

xbc runs just fine on x64 os's - this error is only related to users who don't have that particular OCX installed. It's a basic windows error requiring super basic knowledge. It has nothing to do with xbc directly.

To put it more bluntly, people who haven't yet discovered Google. Your OS gives you the error message, so the hard work is already done.

No idea what some of you would do in a real situation where you have hung threads on sub-processes.....

boy, you guys are rough! not everyone of us knows all there is to know about computers, but we are trying. turns out that didn't change anything for me though. for some strange reason i cannot get my 64 bit machine to recognize my liteon drive in xbc. it works great on my other win7 32 bit machine, but not on the 64 bit box.

However, only just seen after my first backup, that on the newer version of XBC (2.9 build 0350) "process AP25" didn't need to be ticked!

Added an extra 45 mins but now I know it's not needed, the rip time will drastically reduce.

BenQ drive maxed out at 9.7x read speed.

my drive is only doing 2-2.7 xp 32 onboard nvidia liteon phat 0800fw latest xbc same settings as tut

plus its not saying processing ap2.5 sector

am i doing something wrong

Untick "Process AP25". As stated in the previous post, you don't have to. Run the image thru Abgx to patch and stealth it.
