Open tray error DG-16d2s LT 2.0

Hi guys,

You recommanded me to buy liteon drive as i had before a spoofed samsung drive, the drive came yesterday with stock firmware 7485, i flash it using JF 1.89 using Samsung key and LTPlus-025-v2.0, my dashboard is 2.0.14604, flashing went ok, when i connect the drive to xbox and try to open the tray and it stuck some how i dont know, i searched in the youtube i found that i need to put a tape on the magnetic to reduce the strength of the magnetic and the tray is now opening, i tried to put a game like GOW3 it works fine, but for some games its not reading and shows open tray, i tried to adjust the lens using the adjustable 2 screws at the back of the lens as i turned the left screw quarter turn to the left, but its now not reading any disk at all, i return the screw back to its intial state but still not reading any thing and shows me immadiatly open tray, at lease before the CD were turning but now its not.. sorry for this newspaper, i though i need to explain to you so can help me

I would have returned the drive after the first problem of the drive getting stuck on ejecting. You got a bad drive.

you know my friend i live in UAE, i order it from UK, i recived after one week, i dont repeat the story back, becuase of that i thought let me fix it my self cause it'll take time to return and get a new one

Hi maybe I am wrong about this,as I am a noob myself,but if was a new liteon 7 series I think you may have flashed with the wrong update,as it would have not been reverted to 025,it was only Gears of war 3 and the new update that set the drives to 025 ,I think.Just check with someone who know alot more and can give you the correct advice.
I could be totally wrong.

was it retail your gears of war.also is it only back ups you was gettin this prob with.

and was the drive you got new or a used one.

i dont have original games, and regarding the drive if its new or not, i think its not new,that how they send it to me the Modetraders.co.uk, check JF log

You will make yourself very unpopular for that remark... sounds like you got a dud, but you may have fried the laser messing with the laser pot without measuring the resistance.

Trying to do a pot tweak on a laser without a multimeter won't turn out well in most circumstances. Also, not having any original games won't do you any good here on these forums.
And no, you can't do a visual inspection on the strength of the laser. It lights up because there is power to it, not because ya string enough to read a disc.
