How To Replace A Slim Power & Eject Switch Ribbon Flex Cable
How To Replace A Slim Power & Eject Switch Ribbon Flex Cable
First Thing is To Open Your Slim Go Here >> Disassembling the Xbox 360 Slim By Xecuter

Tools Used
Marker Pen
Pick and Hook Tool or Small Flat head screw driver
Twezers
Q-Tips
Reflow Wand or some way of Heatgunning to remove the old ribbon if not it will still come off but it's harder to remove it.

First Thing is To Disconnect The Face Plate Ribbon From The 360

Next Remove The Plastic Clip Holding The Ribbon
I see in videos that this is being broke off for no reason it will pop off if you take your time i used a Pick and Hook Tool here very easy to get the inside clip just pry it up slowly .

Or Just Use A Small Flat Head Screw Driver A Bit Tricky To Get The Inside One

Next Get A Marker Pen & Mark A Template

Next Use Heatgunning & A Twezers To Remove The Ribbon A Nice Low Heat Do Not Go Mad And Melt The Face Plate.

Now Fit The New Ribbon Peel Back A Bit At A Time & Use A Q-Tip To Stick And Smooth Out The Ribbon Like Shown Below

Now Snap The Plastic Clip That Was Holding The Ribbon Back On Small Bit Of Glue If Needed Job Done Put Your Slim Back Together

Re: How To Replace A Slim Power & Eject Switch Ribbon Flex Cable
Yes if you did the damage trying to open the slim like others have putting a screw driver or open tool in the wrong hole on front most probably scratched or cut the trace on the ribbon when trying to open the slim.

Re: How To Replace A Slim Power & Eject Switch Ribbon Flex Cable
I bought the slim in this state, it was still sealed up.
I've never needed a tool to remove the front, a bit of without has always done the trick.Take a look at my RGH Tutorial For Noobs

Re: How To Replace A Slim Power & Eject Switch Ribbon Flex Cable
if you have done it as posted then you either have a faulty ribbon or its not making proper connection between the connecting block on the rol and the ribbon take it out make sure the contacts are clean on the ribbon and the slot on the block is clear other then that its faulty.
