Alternate Slim RGH Points - How To Fix When You F@*k up

Hello Guys This Is Actually My First Thread Here, It Isnt Actually From My Discovery, Its Just Collected From Several Posts And Threads, Just Doing It For All The Guys Who Messed Up Those Points While RGH The Slim

Anyway Here Goes:

This Is The Alternative Point For it, Just Gentle Scratch The Point Apply Flux And Little Solder, Then Solder Your Wire To The CoolRunner,

Third Point : STBY_CLK

Some People May Lift The Original One or Find it Hard, This Is Much Easier, And Can Be used Even If The Original Is Intact.

lets say hypothetically, if you soldered to FT4R2(cpu rst original) and got a very weak solder joint. thats my case and now even with coolrunner disconnected i get a red dot on boot up. im thinking that FT4R2 isnt making connection to a trace anymore. would that cause the problem im having. just had a pro FAIL at fixing it. i think he overlooked this, and i would love to fix my 1 week old slim!!

ya totally the cpu rst point if messed up will cause red dot on the slim, you can try any point of the alt in the thread they work like a charm, but you gotta remove the xclamp for that

the "pro" i sent it too(luckily he didnt charge, actually lifted the pads near the hana. completely ruining it. my mobo is shot, cant believe i didnt see it immediately.

well i got charged by a guy 75 dollars for a cpu rst bridge which i gave him the pics to do, loool total fraud, i thought he would take 10 bucks or so hahahah , no one learns for free

It is really easy to lift the CPU_RST pad under the motherboard if you are moving the blue wire around and cutting it to try and find the sweet spot. The photos are very useful in this thread.

If you can't quite see what to do in the pics, here is a summary of the CPU_RST fix in words:

To fix a lifted FT4R2 pad, you'll need to make a bridge wire from bottom to top of board, run it through the small hole in the motherboard next to FT4R2. This bridge needs to connect the cpu side of R4D4 on top of the board to the empty copper pad just next to the "1" of the text "C5R11" written on the bottom of the motherboard. I would suggest splicing your CPU_RST wire into the middle of this bridge wire with some solder, before you actually solder the bridge wire in place. Use some electrical tape to hold this bridge firmly in place, so you don't break it again.
