Normally new games come with the update on the disc....it asks you to update the game.

Re: A noob's guide to the 1.6 Rebuild PCB installation
I know this is WAAAAYYYYYYYY old, but is there a chance the pics the OP used can be republished, possibly permanently on the server rather than being linked too?
I just did my first 2.6CE mod tonight, and tried referencing this thread to no avail. I ended up referencing the X3CE tutorial and it covered it pretty well in the end.
Just a thought!
Thanks!

Re: A noob's guide to the 1.6 Rebuild PCB installation
LOL. You ain't kidding. I've actually been browsing this forum since about that time frame.
I had another Xbox back then, that the video wasn't working on for some reason, but I could get into the dash and browse the music files. It was my guinea pig back then and I successfully added S-Video and Coaxial out the back of the box. Then forgot to bring it with when we moved.
Anyhow, a friend gave me his xbox and I bought another from another friend a few years ago, and after sitting collecting dust, I finally got the time to do some mods.
The one I just did, I used the pin-header, next one I may do the wire install since I don't like the way the chip sits in there.
Anyhow, the original Xbox is still alive and being modded. Hopefully someone can get the pics or better ones to put in the OP.

thejobefamily2004, if you want to see the images, just put a dash between the team and the xecuter
http://www.teamxecuter.com/x3/tutori...lpc_solder.jpg
Becomes:

I'm just trawling through these forums because I just installed a Xecuter 2.6 in my 1.6 XBOX and, you guessed it, I get a blank screen when I boot, but the MS dash fires up fine.
I've check end re-checked all my soldering and it "seems" fine. In fact I traced my LPC re-build contact points to other places on the mobo and I get continuity, so I know the soldering is ok, but I can't for the life of me figure out why it ain't booting.
I'm guessing it's gotta be the soldering LOL. Or the chip isn't touching all the pins correctly? I dunno. Gotta keep checking my soldering.
