Completely Dead Drive, help please
Okay so i'm working on replacing this benq i have.
Unfortunately it will not connect in jungle flasher and ck3 eject isnt letting the drive eject.
I've manually ejected the drive halfway but even then there is absolutely no power in this dvd drive.
the laser inside the drive will not even turn on.
All my equipment is working properly, because i plugged in the replacement drive and it shows that it's reading just fine.
i've even tried resetting the lasers position i still get nothing.
Is it possible that i can just flash the replacement with stock firmware and plug it into the xbox without a key?

Re: Completely Dead Drive, help please
Yes, you can do that, but it won't play games, original or backups... And it will need a key, even if it is just fffffffffffffffffffffffff's
sounds like it either hasn't got any firmware, or the drive is fried. Firmware probably, flash original key backThe Following User Says Thank You to Goldensavage For This Useful Post:

Re: Completely Dead Drive, help please
You are going to have to do some soldering end of story.
If you can't solder send it to someone who can.
Sorry but there is no way round it. Its like saying can I replace the engine in my car without a screwdriver and not knowing what I am doing
