XMPlayer v0.0.1 Xbox360 released by Ced2911

Our friend Ced2911 strikes again! The very talented coder that brought us such goodies as the PSX Emu and NES Emu now brings us a great new media player for our homebrew enabled XBOX360 consoles. XMPlayer is based off the open source MPlayer and is a great new addition to our LibXenon homebrew library - another great reason to RGH your console !

A lot of hard work has gone into this so make sure you show your support via donations of any amount.

What it does

- Play video from usb, hard drive and disc drive
- Support for ext2fs, ntfs, fat, xtaf and iso9660 partition
- French and english translation
- Launch elf from every media

- Some 1080p are playing, some doesn't
- No network support
- No control when playing music files
- No picture viewer

Looks really good, will definitely try it! Also, with the boot Xell option in Fusion 1.0.8 it should be really easy to boot from the regular dashboard, awesome .

It's really nice, however people have had trouble (including me) with it just hanging on a loading screen. If that's the case for you, you'll have to use a third party formatter, like Fat32 Format (google it), and it'll work

I'm still waiting for xbmc to be ported to the 360

worked for me.
1.format usb stick to fat32 in windows7
2.place xm player files on usb with some .avi files
3.eject start jtag with usb in drive
4.played some avi no probs

wish there was a player in fsd dash like in xbmc

how is that any different to what an unmodded xbox currently does? does it play any other formats than a normal 360 does or is it just a fancier looking media player?

So you can play 1080p mkv natively on a 360 without any media update ?

i run it but when i played a mkv it gave me xell red screen!!!!

It does play MKV's,but not all will play properly,just tested it again with a few different files mkv's touch n go,mp4's definately,avi's yes.Will test some more and report back
