Xbox 360 status code 03-57-00[Drive Spindle not spinning]

So I had a drive which I just recently updated to the new dashboard. Now I never really tested it to see whether it ran any games in the first place, but according to my friend, it did.

Now I have the X360USB and the new ck3pro with the voltage protection just-incase you put the power cable in upside down, which is exactly what I did the first time. Now, the drive still gets recognized, but the spindle doesn't spin.

I tried removing the drive motor and WD-40ing it up to see if that would work, but it didn't. Would getting a brand new housing for it work? Or is the PCB somewhat screwed as well?

    Edit: I tried using a 59j housing, didn't work :/

    Any help would be appreciated.

By housing, do you mean drive motor? Just swap your drive's PCB into a working Hitachi chassis (with a working drive motor of course), that should fix the issue.

By housing I meant to simply take the PCB out of the original 79fk drive and put it into another working 79fk drive, so simply just a PCB swap.

Also, does it have to be a 79fk? Or can it be another hitachi revision?

    Thanks

I think all the drives boards are the same shape/size, just different revisions. Your PCB should fit into any other Hitachi chassis just fine.

Hmmmm Ok well the 59j didn't work, so I'll try another one of my other hitachis then.

I think the 78fk revision will work for you.

    Cheers!
