    Broken Video Port Fix

Well the best solution would be to just put a new one in there, but it's way more trouble then it would be worth, for an old xenon board, so I just soldered in the cables basically hard wired like in this picture.

    Uploaded with ImageShack.us

but now I want to make something a little cleaner that would use this wire for video, component which is RGB.

For audio finding the 3.5mm stereo jack is easy, and the cable is even easier.

But my problem is finding the 3 position 3.5 mm jack. So does anybody have any idea where to get on that is panel mount.

I will have a metal bracket attached to the board that I will drill 2 holes into, one for audio(red, white), and one for video(Red, Green, Blue).

I know the first cable is red, white, and yellow color does not matter, a cable doesn't know what color it is.

So does anybody know where to get the correct jack, I've looked everywhere with no luck, the last resort will be putting 3 2 position 3.5mm jacks and using 3 cables.

    Carolina,

I assume when you say 3-position 3.5mm jack you mean the RCA component red/green/blue plugs? I actually just did a mod on my OG Xbox, built in the RCA audio and video into the case, pulled the ports from a cheap off-brand DVD player that broke a few months back, just hot-aired the connectors off. Failing that, you could try Digikey, in fact I'll go have a look around right now and edit this post if I find anything for you.

Try these: http://search.digikey.com/us/en/prod...1416-ND/408503 http://search.digikey.com/us/en/prod...1417-ND/408504 http://search.digikey.com/us/en/prod...1413-ND/408500 Should be all three colors, they also have generic black, and orange if you wanted to add coax audio, forget if the 360 supports that or just optical.

Edit: Whoops, just noticed what you were getting at, didn't see the 3.5mm breakout on that cable in your post..huh..I'm not actually sure where you'd get those from, tried looking for replacement camcorder/iPod Shuffle parts on eBay? Tends to be the sort of equipment that uses those, you can always hot-glue 'em to the bracket if you had to.

There is a guide on XB-Scene that shows you the pinouts, it's pretty easy to hard wire it up. I have my 3.5mm jacks and cables, I'll probably do work on this this weekend.

Haha I should've posted that I PM'd him already about it, linked him that same guide you're talking about. May sit down and work over my BB Jasper with a DVI/VGA combo off an old motherboard, seeing as HDMI is just DVI with audio for the most part.

    Re: Broken Video Port Fix

Update I tested the RCA 3.5mm head phone socket, and it works perfectly when connected via component. Since thats the highest res that it can do anyway there is nothing to worry about having VGA would be nice but isn't something that will bother me that much.

I'll have pictures once I complete the retro fit and have it back together.

Looking forward to seeing it, always fun to see a new idea, I doubt I'd have thought of using 3.5mm jacks for video as well, but if it works, it works.

    Re: Broken Video Port Fix

Another update on this I finally found the part number to panel mount 4 conductor pins, so I've ordered some and they should be here by the end of the week, once they get here I will proceed to install them permanitly, after i get the cpu key, I can not get the damn thing to glitch for nothing, I just want the CPU key.
