    [3:17pm] <@k3rn3l> TX306 any ideas for what ?

    [3:19pm] <TX306> 360 is powering drive
    [3:21pm] <@k3rn3l> x360usb does unlock bricked drives
[3:22pm] <TX306> well mine must be more than just bricked then
[3:23pm] <@k3rn3l> it has every key to unlock benq's

    [3:24pm] <TX306> power went off
[3:26pm] <@k3rn3l> let me brick a benq and get back to you with procedures
    [3:26pm] <@k3rn3l> 2 mins
    [3:26pm] <TX306> ok thx
[3:27pm] <@k3rn3l> what bank did it fail ?
    [3:27pm] <TX306> 2nd or 3rd not sure tbh
[3:28pm] <@k3rn3l> ok i killed it half way through 2
[3:28pm] <@k3rn3l> "No Drive Detected!" hehe
    [3:28pm] <TX306> same here
[3:28pm] <TX216> thanks for the response
[3:28pm] <@k3rn3l> so you get "Benq Unlock Command Returned an Error" ?
    [3:29pm] <TX306> correct
    [3:29pm] <@k3rn3l> ok one sec
[3:29pm] <@k3rn3l> close jf and power down drive
[3:29pm] <TX306> ok done that 360 power remember
[3:30pm] <@k3rn3l> make sure your av cable is plugged in
[3:30pm] <TX306> yep just done that
    [3:30pm] <@k3rn3l> ok
[3:30pm] <@k3rn3l> give it 30 seconds or so of power down
[3:31pm] <@k3rn3l> as an extra just unplug and replug the power/sata cable from back of drive
    [3:31pm] <TX306> ok done that
[3:31pm] <@k3rn3l> ok power on the drive
    [3:31pm] <TX306> powered
[3:31pm] <@k3rn3l> and then open JF
    [3:31pm] <@k3rn3l> latest JF correct ?
    [3:32pm] <TX306> yup
[3:32pm] <@k3rn3l> click on MTK Flash 32 tab

    [3:33pm] <TX306> XECUTER X360USB PRO (Ver0.17)
    [3:33pm] <@k3rn3l> ok
[3:33pm] <@k3rn3l> what does it say next to vendor
    [3:33pm] <TX306> no drive detected
[3:33pm] <@k3rn3l> click on intro / device ID
[3:33pm] <TX306> Resend command box came up
[3:33pm] <@k3rn3l> click yes, turn power off then on
[3:34pm] <TX306> drive in vendor mode
    [3:34pm] <TX306> legend!
    [3:34pm] <@k3rn3l> bingo ;)
    [3:35pm] <@k3rn3l> can i explain where you went wrong m8 ?
    [3:35pm] <@k3rn3l> for future ref ?
    [3:35pm] <TX306> yes
    [3:35pm] <@k3rn3l> ok
[3:35pm] <@k3rn3l> you clicked benq unlock - got the error - then tried to intro
[3:35pm] <@k3rn3l> at that point the drive is in a state of attempted unlock - you will see one of the led's flashing red on the x360usb pro
[3:35pm] <@k3rn3l> it has to completley refresh to a clean state - hence all the powering down and starting from scratch
[3:36pm] <@k3rn3l> we just demonstrated a live benq unbrick with no other tricks :)
    [3:36pm] <@k3rn3l> take a bow sir
[3:36pm] <TX306> got it. thanks for help much appreciated !

Re: How To Unbrick A Benq - IRC Support Log

I am having a problem with my BenQ going into Vendor mode, I have tried the solution above but it doesn't work for me.
After sending intro command I just keep getting the dots, the drive will change from status 0x80 to 0x51.
I have flashed the drive before, I think it's got ix 1.61 on it. Any help appreciated

Re: How To Unbrick A Benq - IRC Support Log

Noob here so please be nice

I purchased a 2nd Hand XBOX Elite with the intention of installing LT+. I'm fairly competent with tech stuff so did lots of reading and purchased the following:

    X360USB PRO
    CK3 PRO

I opened the XBOX and confirmed the following drive fitted:

BenQ VAD6038 64930C - Apparently an easy one to flash

Ran jungle flasher successfully, intiallyy identified X360USB Pro & Ben Q drive okay (Vendor PBDS) . Unfortunately clicking BenQ Unlock returned an error message and drive no longer identifed. Reading the guides I believe the drive is either bricked or previously flashed. Tampering of the xbox case confirms this.

I followed the guide on how to unbrick a BenQ (Badflash 1 & 2) but it still won't go into Vendor Mode. To confirm that I'm doing it correctly, questions in red?:

    Badflash 1
If Benq unlock is giving you errors then you either have a drive that has been bricked, has older fw flashed to it or is simply being a stubborn pain in the ass. Follow these steps:

    1. Close JF and power down your drive (unplug CK3 power cable and SATA cable for a few seconds and then reconnect - power on - and start up JF)
    2. Eject the tray and then push it in half way
    3. Goto MTK Flash tab, click Intro/Device ID and click OK
    4. Power cycle the drive Off then On using a CK3 kit - timing is important so do this quickly. Is this the ON/OFF switch on the CK3 PCB?
    5. Your drive should now be in Vendor Mode.

    Badflash 2
If Benq unlock is giving you errors and the Badflash 1 method isn't working then you either have a drive that has been bricked, has older fw flashed to it or is simply being a stubborn pain in the ass. Follow these steps:

    1. Close JF and power down your drive (unplug CK3 power cable and SATA cable for a few seconds and then reconnect - power on - and start up JF)
    2. Eject the tray and then push it in half way
    3. Turn the drive power OFF - wait a few seconds then turn the drive Power ON Is this the ON/OFF switch on the CK3 PCB?
    3. Goto MTK Flash tab, click Intro/Device ID and click OK
    4. Power cycle the drive Off then On using a CK3 kit - timing is important so do this quickly.
    5. Your drive should now be in Vendor Mode.

Any further suggestions would be appreciated.

Question Re: How To Unbrick A Benq - IRC Support Log

Being that this thread is already open and I have tried these methods to unbrick my benq, I see no need in me opening up another thread, I hope that is ok. Here's my situation,
I have a Benq that was flashed with LT+1.9 ( I think that was the one) I tried to flash it to LT+2.0 (with a ck3pro, and Via card like I did before), somehow not sure what I did, the drive just froze and stopped responding to the eject command and I couldn't see it at all. I put it back in the xbox and got the rapid center blinking light then 3 rings. I read that I could unbrick it with the usbpro so I bought that and picked up the ck3i too.

I have followed the instructions on here, and a few other sites and the damn drive won't respond to anything. I suppose being a stubborn 'ole Marine won't let me give up on this drive. So, if anyone out there can help this old Marine along I'd greatly appreciate it.

    Using Jungle flasher 1.89
    X360USB Pro Firmware v0.18

You may have flashed it to the 0800 Firmware by mistake, seen it done a few times, follow the normal procedure for a flash (don't worry that your drive is not detected, appears to have no power and does not eject) just follow the usual procedure, and be sure to put the correct firmware in the target window and spoof the key as normal.

That's my input, hope you get it sorted.

Re: How To Unbrick A Benq - IRC Support Log

Ok I tried the probe, no dice. they put a ton of epoxy on the damn thing, burned my finger with the soldering iron cause I was reading instructions, and grabbed the damn thing by the iron not the handle. I also tried flashing it the normal way, and no dice. I thought it could be my setup but I just tried a old TS-H943 I had laying around. I bought it off someone a while back said the box was good for jtagging and the drive was dead, bad flash I suppose. But X360PRO USB read it straight away.

So, I'm stumped. Any other ideas?
