    Nand dumps with BB jasper

Great Job with app. Question relates directly to a 512 BB

In the past without J-runner I would do a 64mb dumb of BB jaspers instead of a full dump which as we know takes up quite a bit of time.

In the tutorial that comes with J- runner it states

NOTE: For Big Block Jaspers you have 3 options (selected board only = 64mb Dumps, 2mb Dumps or Full Dumps)

However, I do not see this 64mb option? All it gives is 2mb or full.
I understand that a 2mb dump gives us the blocks necessary for ECC then you can dump full via http://
Am I missing something regarding 64mb dumps for full freeboot creation? or is this practice of only dumping 64mb not recommended anymore?

    VrT

I always do full dumps. I know it takes a long time but its worth it to have a complete backup.

I do not disagree with that at all.
But are you doing a 2mb dump, writing ecc then doing a full dump after words through network?
or simply doing 2 full dumps right away?

    Cheers

2 full dumps before I even think about writing anything to the console.

    The 2mb dump is to check the CB/Dash only . . .

Re: Nand dumps with BB jasper

If you have nothing checked, it reads 64MB by default
If you have Full dump, it will read 256MB or 512MB depending on the model
The 2MB dumps option was added in mind with jtags, as thats only needed to boot to xell and dump the nand from the network from there instead of waiting to do full dumps

Full dumps are always recommended, but if you dont have the patience then 64MB is enough.
