0251 f/w question

Okay, im flashing a buddys console and he has a phat lite on with 83850c . so I tried getting the key and it was failing. so I looked at the screen and noticed that in JF it says 0251 as the f/w. is this common these days. He had sent the console in to MS for a rrod repair and Im guessing they did this somehow. Im thinking ...pretty tricky MS...

any way, now I dont know what Im supposed to do, as far as how to go about getting the key so I can move forward with the flash.

you are going to need a probe 3 or a PMT to extract the key
these use the "phatkey" function
