I recently flashed a friends Xbox and everything seemed to go perfectly, even extracting the DVD key on the first try.

Key is: XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

Key has been tested and verified, thanks C4eva !
I tested it with a backup of FIFA 12, which was patched and verified, I even verified the disc to make sure it burned correctly, which it did.

Any help would be appreciated.

Is it a slim? I've been reading about open tray problems with 2.0 on slims. I don't have a link just this moment to give you, but try researching a bit. You might want to try and pot tweak your laser a little. A multimeter would help tremendously with the pot tweak.

jungleflasher says its a liteon 0251c so no not a slim laser is probably dead just replace it pot tweaking will only last so long lasers are cheap and easy to replace

I've decided to try a POT tweak and I found an old multimeter around the house but it has no "20k" option. See pictures.

On "RX1K" it currently gives me "30 OHMS" what does this translate too? I'm not quite sure what the "RX1K" means. (It's an old analog multimeter.)

Does this number (30 OHMS) need to be lower or higher? I know to turn counter clock-wise. But what is the general OHMS (or limit) it should/can be at?

that does look old dude, for sake of about 4 pound u can pick a digital one up, you got ohms adjust button on there that i imagine would put it to the setting you need, but id defo buy a new 1 then you no exactly what your reading is:)

Yeah, I'm pretty sure this thing is older than me. I just thought maybe I could just save a trip (and a few dollars).

Just picked up a $5 multimeter from my local tool shop. I tweaked it from about 4.10 OHMS to about 3.84 OHMS and no problems so far. Played one of my backups for an hour with no disc read issues. Thanks to everyone who replied and helped me. :p
