before i explain im not a noob but i did make a schoolboy error as i was tired at the time
i was asked to flash a slim and ordered a switch to unlock after looking at the chip thinking it was an 03 but as i was tired i read wrong and its an 05 but (and heres the eror lol) i grabbed the key/firmware then soldered the switch then realised it was 05 now jf isnt recognising the drive in device manager it shows as spif30x usb2sata bridge usb device
i cant intro it or anything can anyone shed any light on it
and would doing the kamikaze help?

Have you removed the switch and resoldered the trace cut?

Also, if using X360USB Pro, just relflash the firmware on it.

But right now, if you only plug the X360USB Pro (no dvd drive), what does it come up as in the Device Manager? spif30x usb2sata bridge usb device?

If so, reflash the firmware on it.

not yet but i presumed all the switch does is open and close the trace and put a resistance in between the cut ?
i will unsolder now and connect the trace

Nothing should of gotten damaged. Lots of noobs have made this mistake. Just return the drive to stock (remove switch and resolder trace), and make sure the X360USB Pro is still being recognized in Device Manager. If not, reflash.

Like BL4K3Y said, make sure on tick USB ONLY.

So currently other drives are ok? Did you test another drive just now?

Maybe someone can shed some light here, cause I'm at a lost. I don't believe cuting the trace on a Winbond would results in the problems you are having, but of course, I may be wrong.

Good luck.

Are those shorting on the trace next to them? By the looks of the pictures, it looks like they are both shorting out.
