Only I can see is that 1. you connected the power connector backwards, or 2. yoh were soldering while it was powered on and it did short while you were soldering.

i disconnected the board completely apart from the main soldered wires
at this point i would like to point out i do around 200 xboxes a year so this was just an error could it be possible that its just a duff board and that its coincedental that it has gone at the moment i chose to do it?
