LITEON 9504 0401 pcb

Help guys,

I have an unlocked 9504(winbond) and i recently purchased a replacement pcb(mxic) with the intention of fitting a sputnik switch, i didnt know at the time this was out of a 0401 drive.

Is it possible to flash the 0401 with the key from the 9504 or is this classed as spoofing.

Ive tried for hours but i keep getting errors such as 'failed to read dump' 'authorisation failed' 'failed to lock spi' and so on.
the only thing that seems to work is flashing to stock .
but obviousley that then wont work in the xbox.

any ideas would be appreciated

yes its knowning as spoofing...but when you update to the 13599 dashboard your 9504 changes to a 0272 firmware, do you go on live, then get a tx unlocked board if any are available to be on safe side altho not 100% guarnteed to be live safe

Thanks for the replies guys.

I never use this particular consol on live at all(i removed wireless board so kids couldnt update by mistake), i do updates by disc.

Also i dont really want to update dash with the 9504 pcb as i dont want to lock it and i can sell it to someone who can do kamikaze hack.

I wasnt sure if this was spoofing like on the phat models(benq to liteon etc) as the slims are all the same drive with different boards, maybe im wrong.

So is there anyway the 0401 board could be used?

I never said I was, and also if you read my previous post it explains that the console NEVER goes on xbox live.

It should work I'm pretty sure they are the same hardware just different firmware.

Well I had a couple more hours at it last night and a few other odd things are happening.

Firstly I've noticed that the spi lock only seems to work now and again, it acts like it's permanently unlocked and when I try to lock it I get an error.

Then it would lock and unlock as I moved the Sputnik switch but once I put it back to normal it would re lock itself and I get an error.

Also no matter what I do I can't change the drive key, I load it up with key I want to use but I keep getting an error and it changes it back.

Could this be a faulty board( or a faulty user )

I've searched and can't find any answers, hence why I'm asking, really need some help,
