I just got a 1.0 Xbox form a friend I am looking at the place on the motherboard that I need to solder the pin header into. It seem that there is already solder in there. Is it safe to de-solder it to put the header in? i am including a picture hoping someone can help me! Thank you to anyone that can help!

You should do some research before installing the chip. Almost every tutorial i've come across mentions the soldered 1.0 holes. Yes, use a solder braid and remove the solder. This is normal on 1.0 xboxes.

It's a whole lot easier to desolder the LPC holes and then do the pin header install.

Trust me, I know, from lots of experience. You're probably thinking you can do the install without spending $4 on some desoldering braid, but trust me, it will help you out a lot.

Please help, minor banned xbox360 question

hello all, first of all im going to apologize to anyone who reads this post. im sorry if i havent searched the site enough for the info i need. i am new to the site and just needed some basic questions answered.

i modded my xbox360 ( i had someone do it, they put in a chip, if you want more details on this i'll be happy to provide) last june 09 and i dont play online at all, but i did download system updates and a few free addons here and there.

i rarely connected my xbox360 (via ethernet cable) to my router to go online. but this past sat i did just to check if there was anything and i got the banned message.

i read on various posts that my saved games would be corrupt and not work and that any new saved games from new games might not work.

here is my question and my concern. im about to buy Final Fantasy XIII and some other games (burned) and i was wondering if i would have a problem with saving my progress or what not. i dont care much for gamertag or achievement, but it'd be nice salvage.

once again, im really sorry for sounding like a n00b and making this post a bit long. any answer to my question is greatly appreciate it.

Re: Please help, minor banned xbox360 question

games saves work on your console but if your transfer your hard drive to a new console then they will be corrupted and unusable.
