1.5 mobo work in a 1.6 case?

So basically, taking out the 1.6 mobo, replacing it with the 1.5 mobo. Not using the original harddrive. Will it work with the controller ports?

I am wondering if I should just do that. Or wait until the solderless mod comes out for the 1.6? I really do not want to try and mod the 1.6 again, last time I messed up during the lpc rebuild. I have modded a 1.0 (easy). I could probably try the lpc rebuild again if I got a better iron and thinner solder. But I'd rather not take the chance.

the power cables are different, so you'd have to replace the whole power block to a 1.6 power block as well.

Possible MOSFET Fail?

Hey all!

I've been in the XBOX360 modding scene for a while, Mainly a reader rather than a poster.. But i've signed up and see what advise you recommend.

I have a XENON motherboard which has been JTAG'd and was working fine, I took the XBOX360 home and looked on the internet and found a tutorial on adding power to run a hard-drive off a MOSFET, I started the tutorial.. Then finished it and when i went to turn on the XBOX360 it had 3RROD with a secondary error code of 0001. I grabbed another PSU and tried again but the same error.

I then removed all the cables that i had just added and the error still remains, I had never actually plugged in a hard-drive or anything into the power so nothing was being pulled.

The power-supply light always stays orange/amber.

The soldering iron i used is 25W, I soldered two MOSFETS and have attached the photos.

Let me know if you need any more details or detailed photos :)

Re: Possible MOSFET Fail?

AFAIK thoose aren't mosfets but some controller chips.
Also, MOSFETs and Hard Drives, am i missing something there? Never had a JTAGed console, but i guess it'd be as simple as plugging a USB drive.
