I have a 1.6 not sure what version as I am awating my new MB and HD and an X3 w/ lpc rebuild. If this chip has flash bios 3.0.0 on it am i going to run into any problems and if so how do i fix it. If its a 1.6b what might I have problems with. Ive did some searches and I know there is certain problems. I just want to know what I might be up against.

Also why is the X3 bios 1 Meg what happened to 25k bioses?

They've just posted an excellent new guide to flashing; see the link on the home page. It tells which version of FlashBIOS you need for 1.6 and 1.6b (I can't recall offhand).

As for why the X3 BIOS is 1Mb instead of 256k, it has many more features than the old X2 BIOS, including FTP support and much more.

I read the guide kinda. Now that Ive actull read it instad of looking @ pictures. So according to that I shouldnt have any problems on a standard 1.6 but if its a 1.6b I might have some issues is that correct? so Flash bios 3.0.0-3.0.3 will work on a 1.6 and 3.0.3 is the only one that works on a 1.6b?

the board may not be a 1.6b I dont have it in my hands yet. Im thinking its just a 1.6 in which Ive seen people that have had problems with that and problems with this. If its a 1.6 and its flashed with 3.0.0-3.0.3 I shouldnt have problems right but if its a 1.6b if its flashed with anything but 3.0.3 I will have problems right?

Re: Please Please help hitachi spoofed as benq wont work in

just treat it like you would the type of hitachi it is

it doesn't matter what type of drive it is reporting as

send the mode b command, get it recognized in windows (it will come up as a benq)
select the benq drive in the drop down menu in the top right of the hitachi tab
then select the drive revision in the circle that you have
then you can restore original firmware and it will go back to the hitachi it is
