I know that this must be somewhere in here but I have not been able to find the answer and it is killing me!

I have put the X3 in a 1.6 power up and Frags with chip enabled. When i boot in to M$ it is fine. I dont' want to de-solder and re-solder too much so I would like to know what the first thing to check is?

My LPC looks tight - my D0 not so sure.

Any direction here would be great.

Thanks in advance

I need to add to this as this is close to my problem.

1.4 box with X-3 fresh install.
When using flash bios all versions the screen just flashes and is not readable. The button on the xbox stays solid yellow. I can kinda make out flahsbios but not the version or any other info.

Because I had done this before I knew to just hit the a botton to load the network stuff I did get it flashed to 1959.bin and works fine.

The M$ dash boots and so does 1959.bin just flashbios is the problem.

THe backup of FLASHBIOS does not work and I have flashed all the versions I could find.

Anyone have some idea here? I am getting ready to resolder the works, but really don't want to burn any traces off the MOBO.

I wouldn't mess with your d0 point. Sounds like thats working fine. The d0 point tells the xbox mb to boot your chip. Since it boots good MS bios when the chip is off and frags when the chip is on, it sounds like that part works. d0 doesn't cause a frag.

Frags are caused by something with your lpc (or breaking something on the board). Check your solder points and especially your rebuild wires. I would guess that one of your rebuild wires is off.

Thanks for the post. On closer inspection I noticed that one of the LPC holes, that does not have a pin, is filled with solder. Hope that is it.

Thanks,

This is KILLING ME! i have checked all my header solder points and they look solid. I even went out and bought a light with a mag glass built it.

So here is the low down:

1)solder points look good
2) try to boot with chip enabled and FRAG
3) try to boot in to back up BIOS and FRAG
4) boot in to M$ dash and all is good!

Any help here would be great.. I am getting ready to punt this MOBO out the window.. and the real problem is that I traded my box that I had working for this new one and some cash.. now I am sitting here with no xbox.. arghhhh

thanks in advance for any help

can you take a picture of your lpc top and bottom? After I do the bottom side LPC rebuild (wires or LPC rebuild board), I always check continuity between the points with a multimeter from the TOP side of the board. Follow this image:
http://www.utahxboxrepair.com/pictures/xbox/LPC_top_rebuild

note that on that image, the green points do not need to be checked. You should have continuity between each pair of colored dots if your LPC rebuild is successful. You should also check for continuity between the orange D0 point and your bottom d0 connection.

Moddifying the .ISO of a game

So, i modded my backup of Dead Space 2 (the .iso that is) and after i have burned i put it in my xbox and it says play game, but never shows a picture, sometimes when i press a to play the game it tells me dirty disc or it just stays at a black screen forever and it sounds like its trying to read it. any ideas whats going on?

you probably did a poor job of modifying and then packaging the .iso

U should check to make sure u didn't change important files. Start from scratch and I also assume u have a JTAG system.
