1.6 M/B in 1.4 case...

Not really the right forum, but then don't know what is. Anyway, has anybody put a 1.6 M/B in a 1.4 case? And if so, what bits needed shaving/removing? The M/B seems to fit OK, but everytime I bolt it together (put the lid on) the power collector blows. It runs fine with the M/B bolted in, just not with the lid on...

you could probly just shave off a little of the regular plastic screw thingers that have the screws in wen the lid is on(so the mobo sits a little lower. sounds like something is pushing down against the mobo and/or shorting

On a case thats not 1.6, it has an extra metal tab on the shielding, which isn't there on a 1.6 case. So when you put a 1.6 mobo in an earlier case model, that extra tab touches the motherboard causing that to happen. I don't shave my xboxs to fit unless nescassary. I just removed the sheilding.

Yep, got the 1.6 psu in. Also there is an extra screw and metal shielding tab just behind the video connector. Hopefully that's it.
