Im doing a new install so guess this makes me a noob.

I have a 1.6 xb with a 2.6ce installed on it (or will be soon, once i get it in the mail)

Iv done a lot of research. But with so many sources its hard to tell whats outdated or conflicts.

now i understand that when flashing with a 2.6ce it will always flash bank 1 no matter what the bank selection swich is.
Becouse my xb is a 1.6 flashbois 3.03 will not work with it. Which comes stock on bank 2.

I prefer to have a good backup. So what i need to do is get 3.01 over on bank 2.

So i used the x2bm tool to put the x2 3035 v1.6 on banks 1 & 2. And i put the flashbios 3.01 in bank 3, and again on bank 4 (being only a 256k bios) and made a bios.bin to flash to the 2.6

Is this the proper way of doing this. Or is my logic flawed in some way?

Hi

That is the correct way to make the bios, but what xbox version do you have? 1.6 or 1.6b?

Flashbios 3.03 will work on some 1.6 xboxes. The best thing to do is install the chip, and see which flashbios actually works on your xbox by switching the xbox on with bank 1 to see if 3.01 loads. Then switching the xbox on with bank 2 on to see if 3.03 loads up.

Once you know which Flashbios works you can proceed with the X2 5035 bios in bank 1 (1+2) and the Flashbios which works on bank 2 (3+4)

Hope this helps

Just the 1.6. Which is why i didnt like the ideal of having 3.03 as a backup if it tends to give problems with my version.

I wish i got the Xecuter 3 now. The geek inside wants to have all the x3 bios features. But the wallet did not agree
