Alright I have a previous thread where the LPC was basically destroyed and I repaired it...I have the box booting to either M$ dash or off the chip...there is a wierd problem I am having though. I am able to boot up flashbios from the backup bank and flash the main bios through network. I flashed the first 1Mb bank with 2913 and everything booted up great, the problem is none of my settings are stored. I thought okay maybe it is just a bug, so I went back to 1949 and get no video and no sound. I know this is normally because of pins 9 and 10 so I took it apart and checked the points. The solder looked alright but I went ahead and desoldered and redid them (wire install)...still nothing. Now this is the really wierd part...when I flashed the chip to 2913 I had the stock hard drive in and it took a few resets, but my network settings were saved. I put the new hard drive in and it booted up back to default settings. I tried changing them and rebooting and it would not save my settings. This is when I decided to roll back to 1949. I think I figured out what is going on here...the trac from pin 14 on the LPC was lifted cleanly from the board, I repaired this by cleaning the trace and soldering directly to the trace. I think pin 14 goes to the eeprom and since it is possibly inaccessible the chip cannot back it up to itself so it cannot save the settings? I am going to pop the chip in my other box and backup that eeprom to it, and see if it will save my settings then. Any other ideas? I think Xecuter or a very experienced installer is going to have to step in on this one. Also, the onboard flash protect switch is white...my other chip and all of them I have seen thus far have been black and it is not an X3CE...the chip looks like something is not quite right about it, IDK if this is some new clone or what but it has been hell on earth from the start. (MOSTLY my own fault though) Carelessness in the beginning will bite you in the ass in the end! Thanks for your help.
