Trying to make sure before ordering the chip I think it is a 1.6 model it was manufactured July 24, 2004? Also does the 2.6 xecuter chip already flashed/loaded and ready to run backed up games?
Thanks

open your box up and follow xbox-scene's version guide to verify exactly which version you have

chip comes pre-flashed with flashbios, you will then need to flash a hacked bios onto the chip in order to play backups and all that other stuff

Its been a while since I put a chip in and I couldn't find that darn section. Its a 1.6 I put a X3 in it yesterday but something is wrong it trys to boot up 3 times and then goes to a blank tv screen and the button flashes red and green. Any ideas? I thought I may have screwed up the chip.
Thanks

Get someone else to fit it if you're unable to do so. The chip is fine, it's the soldering at fault here.

Read the various install and config tutorials.

Thanks

I have done a 1.3 and a 1.5 never had a problem. I soldered the little pcb they sent and I am pretty good at my soldering skills just never done a 1.6 thought there might be a secret?
Thanks

Both blue leds are lit up but the led that is suppose to be red or green depending on which way the switch is is red no matter which position the safety flash switch is in? It will take a couple of mins but I will get some pics.
Thanks

pics

Pics aren't so great my camera isn't the best. I soldered every connection I am going to go and try and find my multimeter so I can do continuity checks on every point. They look good though. Can't seem to upload the its saying error line 274

Fixed it

Found a couple of points on the back of board that weren't soldered correctly which didn't give good continuity.

Yes Thanks

Thanks for the help. I am sorted out now. (had a hangover) I had a terrible time putting this one in. If it could have gone wrong it did. I messed up the pin header but luckily I had saved the other wire install units so I looked at the pics and made one out of wire installs instead. Then I messed up the pins where you plug the dip switch harness into the pc board of the chip so I had to solder like 15 wires to it which isn't an easy task. Then I found those 3-4 points on the back of the xbox board that didn't have good continuity and if I remeber right like 2 of the wires (that replaced the pin header) didn't have continuity either but once I got all my crap together it fired up with the blue X thanks for letting me know that the chip wasn't fried just needed to look at my connections harder.
Thanks Again,
Joe

what would be the best way to go about installing the pinheader. first solder the rebuild pcb then the pinheader or vice versa?

Pinheader first, then put the rebuild board on.
