I've just installed a 1.6b using the pcb rebuild. When I turn it on w/o the dvd/harddrive so I can take a look to see if it worked, the chip glows blue, but the front panel shows NO LED OR ACTIVITY and the MS dash boots everytime.
Assume:
It's a d0 problem.
Questions:
-Are there any other points that I need to inspect, like the 3.3v because the front panel doesn't do anything?
-With the connections to the pinheader and the pcb rebuild. Do I just have the solder connect the pcb rebuild to the protruding pin? Or do I need to have the solder run down and touch the motherboard on the lpc port, pinheader, and pcb rebuild?
Facts:
-The connecting wires are all firmly in place with no bent pins. (To the front panel, the eject/power adapter/the activity/d0 harness/the +5v)
-The d0 connection to the motherboard looks good to me
-The d0 wire to the solder pad is firmly in place, but I did preload the pad with a sizeable mound of solder first, then just heated it up and stuck the d0 wire in there. Could there be too much solder for the d0 pad?
