1.6b new install not working.

Hi, I just installed the xecuter 3 in my xbox(1.6b).

Everything appears to be installed correctly, but I guess I did something wrong. This was a new xbox straight out of the box. I have am currently using the original drive to start with but have a 120gig waiting once I get the mod chip working.

When I hit the quick power button, the little xecuter logo on the panel mounted on the outside of the xbox lights up blue. Also, the blue HD led with come one for a short while. Then nothing else happens.. blank screen on the tv. I do get a yellow/amber light around the eject button, not flashing.

Same thing happens for the backup mod, power+eject. only I get the purple light.

If I do the long power on for disabling the chip mode, it will boot normally into the msdash.

I do have both blue led's light on the xecuter board itself. I thought it might be a d0 problem but the connection seems to be solid. Besides that wouldn't it just boot the the msdash on a quick power up rather then a black screen?

Anyway thats where I am at.. trying to get to the point where I can flash the bios.

Just had a thought. Is this what would happen if there was no bios on it when it was shipped? If that is the case, would I be able to flash it with a xodus/matrixx programmer and using the milk program?

I just came arcross this thread which appears to be the same problem.
I tried the eject thing as well as the different banks and still the same result.

on a 1.6 you must have th flashbios version 3.03

Ok.. I can get those files without a problem. Now can I use the old xodus programmers to flash it? Or am I going to make things worse if I try that? Is there another way to flash the chip? I can't seem to find any other methods other then to have 3.0.3 already flashed and shipped that way.

Have you got access to another X3 modded xbox? if you have then you would boot up the modded xbox to flashbios or evox or whatever doesnt matter

hot swap to the chip you want to flash (your X3)

then flash with the correct bios

if its v1.6b then of course you need 1959 v16plus

Only other xbox I have access to is a 1.0 with a matrixx chip in it. I might be able to get my hands on a x2 programmer though.

are you sure your chip has the wrong flashbios in it

if you requested it, it would have flashbios 3.0.3 (which you need),

but if you didnt, it will have the other flashbios which is only for v1.0-v1.6 (but no v1.6b) ----------------------------------------------------------------^

if you did request it and have the correct bios, you may have messed up the right side of the d0 trace......

if I messed up the d0 wouldn't it just boot to the ms dash as if there was no chip installed?

Also, I was not aware that I needed to request flashbios 3.03 at the time I purchased the chip. So I did no do that. So I assume that it is an older version.

I have read multiple post with the same symptoms. (boot black screen, yellow eject light). Where they hotswapped the chips and updated the bios and that fixed it for them.

As it stand I have no way to update the bios on the x3 chip.

Have you tried all the bank combinations to see if you have flash bios 3.03 on the chip?

No, what I said is that you could have messed up the right side of the d0 trace, but not the d0 point itself. This would cause the M$ bios to be the only bootable bios.

Just install the x3 in ur 1.0 xbox, and flash it there. Then install it back in the 1.6b.......

the signal can only trave up to the d0 point if grounded and would only allow the onboard bios (M$) to be bootable

Lite-on to benq..reads AP2.5 but goes to black screen

Hello everyone, i have done so much research on this but i had no luck as of yet, hopefully someone here would be able to give me a least a hint on what to do.
i had a dead lit-on, i spoofed it to a samsung, it works fine with non ap 2.5 games....i tried to play NFS and ACB and it asked for update to play the game, i made the mistake and i ran the update...

Now......before i applied the update, i was able to NFS and ACB on it with the Activate.iso disk....but i can't no more......so i got hold of an old Benq and i spoofed the lite-on key that i still have to the benq and flashed it with LT+ for Benq...it loads and plays non AP2.5 games ...on the other hand, it boots NFS and ACB but when i press "A" to play the game, i goes to a black screen and freezes.
i have tried ABGX 1.4 but no luck, even tried the active.iso disk

you cannot spoof LT+ all the time

you need to get an drive that matches the original type

you can buy and revision of lite-on and flash the correct lite-on firmware LT+ to the drive and make it work

that is your best option

for those experiencing similar issue, i managed to get i working, i reflashed the Benq drive about 4 times, ran the iso thru ABGX360, burned to dual layer disc using Xbox 360 Game Burner, tried it and it worked, i was so surprised to actually see it work, but it won't play games unless i run them thru abgx360 first and let abgx do its work!
