:( 1.6B problem

Hi, Can someone help/confirm that what I'm doing is right please?

I think I have a 1.6B xbox cos of the hynix chip on the mobo & its a Crystal xbox.
I purchased an X-ecuter light & Programer from the BaldBouncer & have managed to get the xbox to boot up using the std EvoxM8 bios & installed the Slayers, Evox Disk, all seems ok'ish but my main problem is that I would like to put a game on the hard drive & when I choose this option from Slayers menu it either freezes or says that I aint got the reset eject fix instaled, I downloaded what I thought was this fix (EvoX V3.6_EjectFix - V1.1.rar) but the box wouldn't boot when I tried flashing with that particular v1.1.bin.
I have only chipped about 5 Pre 1.6 black xbox's so am a greenhorn, esspecially to the new 1.6B Crystal!
Wish I had brought a black box pre 1.6 now :-(

Oh forgot to mention that I have downloaded M8plus from Xbins & X2 Bios Manager doesn't let me flash the chip!

Well you really need the m8plus_16.bin file, what version of x2bm did you use, version 2.3 is documented to support it, or you could use iXia to flash your chip.

Flash the chip w/ the 3.0.3 FlashBios then you can http the flash.

Thanks for yor reply's Peeps.

I was using BM 2.2, so downloaded 2.3 & flashed bank1 with 3.0.3 & bank2 with Evox M8 Plus, no probs, thanks for that!.

Not sure how to http the flash but as its flashed ok now I'll leave as is, but thanks for that also.

Having flashed with the M8_16.bin I still cant seem to copy an original game onto the hard drive, am getting the same error as before! :-(

"Your chip does not support the eject reset option"

Any ideas Peeps :?:

Hi Peeps,

Just to say that I have now sorted my copying games to hard drive issue.

I deleted the Evox Copy Games To Hard Disk App & Replaced it with the dvd2xbox app, this seems to work fine.

I might get to put the lid back on me box now! :wink:

can banned box be linked with unbanned box to play game?

like on l4d2 or similar game where you wire link the boxes. will the corrupted info from the banned box not let you play with the unbanned box? thanks...

Nope. You can play system link no problem - the two boxes won't affect each other. I've don't it multiple times; my banned console still remains banned and my unbanned console is still like it was before. Just make sure you have the same game version. You can download game updates from http://xbuc.24.tl/ (which seems to be down at the moment) and place them in your Cache folder in Partition 3 on your HDD.
