1.6b works with m8+16 from bank 1 and 2 ???

hi this is my 6th 1.6b xbox , its definately a 1.6b as it has hynix ram but this one has broke the pattern , all of my previous 1.6b's i have chipped have not worked from bank 1 ( this is a known issue ) but this one works perfect from both banks , no lockups or anything , its the first october 2004 1.6b i have done
i have had problems before with 1.6b shutting down then rebooting when you press eject , lockups etc but this one works perfect from both banks so has something been changed ?
this is definately a 16b with hynix ram
how do i make evox dash recognise the m8+16 bios ( it says unknown at the moment ) i know i have to add the rom value in the evox.ini but how do i find what to add ?

ok so have u tried playing dvds etc with it. did u get the others u said never worked properly working in the end and if so how? i have a 1.6b myself crystal mfd 2004-10-09 if i load m8+16 to just bank 2 and flashbios 303 to bank 1, when i hit eject from playing game or reboot from the evox menu it loses the clock setting and i have to reset it, if i load m8+16 into both banks the resetting stops, but i still find the bios to be rather laggy, i experience long load times and if i try to play dvdr movies on it only about 1/10 work without lockups, but all discs r perfect and play in other xbox's, originals play perfect and load normal with the chip of and ive tried the dvdrom in another xbox so i know thats fine anyway.

i think there r still big issues with the bios and im going to have some very unhappy customers when there kids turn on the xbox's xmas morning and they lag, hopefully team xecuter will get a bios out for us as i hear they have nearly completed the x3 bios, hopefully they can work of that, but i dont know sh*t.

i just noticed the date of manufactor is the same on these boxs, i wonder if other components r different then other 1.6b's, this is hard work, i used to love chipping xbox's never had to worry about a thing, except the early 32odd wire chips or was it 29, too long ago now they were dodgy, lol

i still have the other 1.6b's ( 3 of them ) as they are not working 100% , they either reset with flash bios on bank 1 ( m8+16 bank 2 ) or are tempermantal if i put m8+16 on both banks . but they were all late septemebr xbox's , this was my first october xbox , it still has the hynix ram but this works absolutely perfect from both banks with the m8+16 , there are no issues at all with it i have tried this xbox for hours on hours over the last few days and this works perfectly , i just cannot understand what is the difference between this unit and my other september units , i mod atleast 3 units per week but this one has broke the mould or something has changed , i don't know ?
i can't sell the other units untill they are working perfect , as i like people to return .

keep up the good work team xecuter you can get this sorted out in the end , yes ? please !!!!!

sounds like mine does the same as your other 3, if u ever work anything out post it m8, cause this is driving me mad, i dont even know if there is a x2 bios being made yet, ive looked around and cant see one mentioned on xecuter site, the only thing i think i ever read was we will make one when we r ready as there r working bios's out there. well not for me there isn't

i have tried all of the 3 units with the stock drive ( 2 seagate and 1 western digital ) and have replaced the drives with brand new seagate 160gb drives , this makes no difference at all with these units , so i guarantee the problem is not hdd connected
what i just cannot understand was the october unit ( 1.6b hynix ram )works perfect even from bank 1
hopefully over the christmas period team xecuter will release a new x2 1.6 bios and solve everybody's headache as this is to much hit and miss

on a different subject i sold a unit to a mate of mine a few weeks ago and he was saying he keeps getting lock ups on his xbox ( crystal xbox made august 2004 ) it was not a 1.6b it was a 1.6 with samsung ram , after playing a game for a few minutes the console locks up but this was random and on different games and did not always happen , he could reboot then play on for a few minutes then it locks up again , anyway i noticed he was running from bank 1 so i reflashed the whole 1mb bios switched it to bank 2 it worked for the whole night no lock ups or anything why does the bank choice make a difference ? i have tried to get team xecuter to tell me what is the difference between the banks as i just thought each bank was a 512k memory block half of 1mb but this cannot be the case if some units will only work from a peticular bank can it ?

i have asked my mate to keep me informed on this unit from bank 2

yeah i heard it was compatability issues between the bios and the chip so hopefully the next x2 bios release by TX will resolve all these issues, ive found as a golden rule on 1.6 or 1.6b always flash a full 1mb m8_16(1.6) or m8+16(1.6b) and always run from bank 2, that seems the best way atm, hopefully things will get abit easier now, done a few more and solved a couple of problems i had so learning these xbox's more, for a while id had enough of chipping xbox's but happier now, just waiting on that bios im a bit reluctant to buy any more x2's till theres one, as other working 1.6 bios work but not on x2's

360 arcade help

I just bought a 360 arcade and was planning on paying someone to flash it 4 me but I also wanted to use a flash drive as a substitute for the hdd just to save a few bucks, and was wondering would the update to make my usb flash drive a storage device cause any problems with the mod? Thanks Ahead of time. any reply is greatly appreciated

no, the usb stick as a memory device wouldn't cause any problems

but just to be safe, make sure you update your xbox360 to the latest dashboard BEFORE you mod your drive
