Hi all,

I've bought a new pcb for flashing my xbox. Read basic tutorials but couldn't succeeded so far. I've some questions;

I obtained my key with my original pcb. But it gave error when extracting dummy.bin file. I only managed to obtain my key. Here is the question, I know my key but can't use it as dummy.bin how can I flash my new pcb.

Besides I tried to flash new pcb with orig-1070.bin to ltplus v2. It has written the fw but gave verification error :(. What may cause such an error. Now new pcb also seem as 1071 drive, but dvd-rom doesn't read any media . What can I do about this?
Spoofing Target
DVD Key already matches
Key Sector copied from Source to Target
Target is LT - ID strings not copied to Target
Serial data already matches

Getting Status from port 0x9000
SPi flash found with Status 0x72

Sending Chip Erase to Port 0x9000
Erasing:
Writing target buffer to flash
Writing Bank 0: ................
Writing Bank 1: ................
Writing Bank 2: ................
Writing Bank 3: ................

Flash Verification Test !
Reading Bank 0: ................
Reading Bank 1: ................
Reading Bank 2: ................
Reading Bank 3: ................
Write Verify Failed !

The last question is after second try I am not able to take drive to vendor mode anymore. It gives this error even if I powercycle :(. By the way I use ICH10 chipset for sata connection. may there be a stability issue about it? If I use VIA 6461 does it make sense?

Sending Vendor Intro to port 0x9000
Status 0x51
Re-sending Vendor Intro:
....................
Device Intro failed!

SlimKey extraction failed!

Thanks for advance

you cant just use a key to buld a dummy like the phat xbox you need to get the full rip from the orginal board before you flash your other one else youll never get it working. you cant inject the dvd key into just any dummy it doesnt work on slims

you need your dummy bin from original pcb,hit slimkey then press no on the 1st message then on the 2nd hit yes when the dots start then power cycle by turning the power to your drive off and on within a second,x360usbpro would make it a 100 times easier, what are you using to power the drive, also read the jungleflasher tut pages 157 to160

You both mean it is possible to obtain dummy.bin with a locked pcb?

I used ICH10R as chipset so far (south bridge on my motherboard).
Page 157-160 describes driver removal of VIA 6421. I'll try my via card and let you know the result.

Thanks in advance

yes you can get your dummy bin from a locked orignal pcb with slimkey you need it to flash it to your unlocked pcb, you got SlimKey extraction failed because you never power cycled

I use xbox, itself :/
Can't I powercycle? Powering off and on the drive would cause an error..

A second question do I have to tie data cables and optic reader cables to the board while using jungle flasher? I tied power cable from xbox and sata cable from my desktop.

---------- Post added at 03:40 ---------- Previous post was at 03:37 ----------

Once I read a way to take the drive in vendor mode;

- Open xbox
- Eject drive
- hold it tough and press eject again don't let it go in.
- then make it semi open and press eject button again
- hold it tighly
- then in vendor mode

May I use such a method then press slim key? Also not to use intro device button

thats no good using the xbox as a power source, you need to get yourself a ck3i or a ck3 mini to power the drive so you can power cycle and i would also get a x360usbpro, these are top tools made by tx if you had those you would have your drive flashed in a couple of minutes,i dont think you will get much more support here cause you are not using any tx tools, this is a tx support forum

Hmm, maybe I may shorcircuit the power for a while. But not sure if it damages the board.
I bought a brandnew board. Isn't it XT product?

I'm a regular xbox user, not doing this hack for someone else for money. These prices are very high for me unfortunately :/. By the way what may I do to overcome this problem in a cheapest way

get a ck3 mini there not expensive, using the xbox for power is a no no and it can also flag your console plus you could end up messing something up on your console, thats why tx make these tools plus it will make it so much easier,i have all there, tools just for my own personal use

Via 6421 or my onboard sata, never worked for any slim drives for me. Usbpro works everytime. Says in JF tut, very few chipsets are known to work with slim drives, and usbpro is recommended

if you think the tools you need are to much for you to buy then send it to someone that will do it for you, theres plenty of modders in the modders section

I live in Turkey and it is a pain to send a shipping via standart postal service. Sending via fedex, dhl, ups is very expensive. I spent too much money for this adventure. I think i may afford ck3 mini, but your comments describe it may not be enough to flash my drive which makes me confused..

Besides a new deal means more than a week for me as I can't find these tools in my country. Isn't there a way to powercycle the board without this tool. I may try if I need or don't need usb pro indeed :/

you need a ck3 mini to power your drive so you can power cycle for flashing , the flashing can be done without the use of a x360usbpro ,but most onboard chipsets and via cards wont work with slim drives, not to say that yours wont work, but the the x360usbpro is 100% compatible, theres tx resellers all over the world, you should of done research on what you need to flash your drive.

To sum up to jb xbox I need;

- orig pcb,
- unlocked pcb
- ck3 mini
- xboxusbpro
Then some software for flashing operations (jungleflasher, my dumy.bin, ltplus etc..)

Besides I have a problem. I placed my original pcb again but it doesn't read media. It has to read normally right? I havent touched original pcb expect trying to get slimkey. I'll check connections but no problem about soldering, power functions work flawlessly..

I'll investigate further especially for ck3 hardware.

It was not reading my Forza 4. As you said checked cables and with a second try it worked. Thanks..

I have some knowledge about microelectronics, wonder if I can powercycle the pcb over the board. But it is a too expensive experiment for me at this time..

I'll investigate the tools you told. I want to solve these problems today :/

To power cycle without USBpro, unplug the power cable off the drive and then plug in again very quickly. But still getting a 360USBpro would make your flashing job easier.

Edit: I mean without CK3

you could power cycle like rome said, but this is one of the reasons the likes of the ck3i and mini are made also not recommended to use your xbox as a power source when flashing
