120GB Drive from old XBOX, how to I use it in the new one

I had a 1.0 XBOX that I modded with an Executor 2.x chip, and a 120GB HD. I just received a new 1.5 XBOX with an Executor 3 chip, and the 160GB HD that I bought for it is bad. Instead of waiting for all of the RMA stuff to finalize, I'd like to just use the old 120GB HD if I can.

Here's the problem:

The chip is working fine with the orignal XBOX drive, so I don't think that it's a chip issue. If I try to boot the Slayer's disk with the 120GB drive, the XBOX just boots to the original dashboard, and I get an error '6.' If I try to hold down the White button on my controller while booting, it does the same thing.

I expect, and don't care if I have to blow everything away to get the drive working, since I was due for a major software upgrade anyway. I am really having trouble finding an answer for this on any forums, as the information has become quite dispersed since the time that I modded my old system

You have to unlock the hdd first. Put it back in the original xbox and run slayers on that, then use slayers to unlock the drive. once its unlocked, put it into the newly modded xbox.. run slayers and relock it on there. That should work.

I'm curious of taking out a 160gb hdd from a fragging xbox (thus i have no way of unlocking it on that particular one b/c its not working) and putting it in a working one.

Unfortunately, the old XBOX is dead, motherboard is fried. The 160GB drive that I bought is clicking loudly. They are going to replace it, but I just want to get this thing going.

do you have a backup from configmagic or evox or from soemthing else if you dont then I believe it is an expensive paper weight

if you have a copy of your eeprom (which you know you should) then you can easily unlock it using a number of methods.

if the original drive was locked with config magic then you can unlock it with pc tools with the password TEAMASSEMBLY
