i had a very stubborn falcon last night that would not update no matter what i tried well after about 8 hrs of messing around this is the process that i used and have been using ever since that with every console i do.
it's a little long but in the end i know that it will work 100% so if you have a console that no matter what you try it will only E79 then try this method
user flash360 to create a flashdmp.bin
i did this new dash exactly how it said in readme and its working great for my falcon 360 if its not working by building image
with fbbuild try the new gui app thats for this dash image
how i did it i got the fbbuild and the image files from xbins extracted fbbuild to my desktop in its own folder then extracted the 12611.zip into the data folder
enter your cpu key in the cpukey.txt that's in the mydata folder then put DD88AD0C9ED669E7B56794FB68563EFA into the 1blkey.txt of the root of the contents
dump of nand image via flash 360 and moved it to pc
drag and drop that file into mobileExtract.exe to get settings out of it i got a folder in the same directory as the image in that folder
had files called MobileB.dat MobileC.dat & MobileD.dat and moved them into the mydata folder (if you onl get one Mobile.dat file it should still work continue with that)
open the dumped image into 360 Flash Tool with correct cpu key selected in options to extract ibuild compatible files and then clicked the extract button and ticked
SMC
Key Vault
all the box's under generic files
and config blocks
extracted them to a empty folder i got the following folders
freeBOOT
GenericFiles
KeyVault
SMC
2 files in root of folder too
in the freeBOOT/Data copy both files into the mydata folder of fbbuild
in the GenericFiles/freeBOOT/Data copy all the files into the mydata folder
ignore the KeyVault folder it's not needed as the KeyVault bin was in the first folder
SMC folder rename SMC_dec.bin to smc.bin copy to mydata folder
open command prompt and went to the fbbuild folder in windows vista/7 its best to open in admin rights
type in fbbuild.exe -c motherboard -d mydata updflash.bin and it created my image
replace motherboard with the type of motherboard you actually have
flashed it back to my 360 with flash360 not keeping the current keyvault/config as there in the image your flashing
it prompted that there was a mismatch with keyvault but i thing addresses have changed a little the reason why ignore this and carry on
then i got prompted about it not being zero paired i ignored and carried on and flash 360
after it was complete i backed up and let flash 360 shut the console down
tried every gui among other things and nothing worked at all hope this helps ..
