I have flashed serveral of these drives, all was good. I havnt done it in a year because my new pc is on Windows 8. My friends was beggin me 2 do his xbox. He brought his laptop around with windows 7 64 bit, i had trouble with the pc getting in to test mode to run the portio64.sys, i finaly got it running and i went though the stages to flash a Lite-on 16D2S, i used the Probe III got the dummy.bin, i then went to Lite-On erased powered cycled the drive and then click write then outra.

I plugged it back into the xbox and i wont read any disks (games or dvd), i then flashed it back to stock and still nothing. I then tried my ripper drive which is a 16D2S and that does the same thing.

As the driver problem i had got the wrong CD Key??

I've only flashed about 10 to 20 drives but never had a laser die from it

I have flashed 400+ different drives (plus several restores and updates on each drive) and it have never caused any dead lasers

i agree same here its the installer that's doing something wrong usually drilling 2 deep or cutting 2 deep with both hacks:biggrin:
Did you read the op before posting !
It's a 16d2s so doesn't need drilling and since the probe came out years ago you don't need to cut it either

All is now on CFW 3.0 and seems to work great, however when i play COD: Ghosts singleplayer works but mulitplayer i get a disk unreadble error, the disks were successfully verified with abgx360 and works in another console, i can play other games online, battlfield 4, any ideas?

I'd burn another copy, I've had discs work in one xbox and not another of the same exact model.

some are just pickier than others.

I always disconnect the laser and have never had one fail yet.
I would really like to know where this "myth" of disconnecting the laser ribbon came from. I've never seen any official sources claim this should be done. Can ANYONE find an official source? If not, then it's just useless propaganda from stupid youtube warriors.

I'm pretty sure there used to be a page detailing this in the jftut back when the liteons first came out

Interesting. That would be at least 4 years ago - before I started modding. If it's no longer included then it was either faulty info or negligible enough it doesn't matter. (Was that redundant enough?)
