Hey all, I have a 1.6 xbox, and a xecuter 3 chip. It was working great for a month and now sometimes the xbox wont boot the bios. It is not fragging, and the leds are blue. Nothing shows up on the screen. I can disable the chip and it boots, and I can go into flashbios fine. I tried installing 1959 again and no go. I have no idea what the problem is. Anyone got any suggestions?

may i suggest that perhaps the soldering job on some of the pins need to be redone, i had this same problem, i was able to disable and boot, but wit 1959 on there all i was getting was a black screen and i redid my whole pin header wich took about 15 maybe 20 min to desolder and resolder paying close attention to pins #1,13,14.theres a picture on the forum that will show wich ones these are ifyou do a search, alright chitown goodluck.

i read the x3 bios wont work without the extra lpc points so if one of them are broken that could be one reason flashbios works and the bios dont...

another reason could be a bad eeprom as i've found the x3 bios wont boot the 1st time you use it if you have no eeprom unlike flashbios which is based on cromwell so works fine without any eeprom instead the x3 makes a backup eeprom on the chip and embeds it to the bios so it can then boot with a broken eeprom after

Sorry for not checking in earlier, I havent been on the comp for a few days. Anyways, I found out I have to sort of warm up the xbox before I can get it to boot the 1959 bios. What I did was, booted up with chip disabled for a couple of hours(went out shopping), came back and rebooted with chip enabled, and waaa-laaa, it worked.

So does this sound like a sodering problem or a defective chip?

Is plus good enough

Is LT plus good enough or should I really redo what seems like 100 updates and go with PLUS 1.1?

if you want to play new games i guess you probably should update.... if not then don't.

LT+ is good enough. It will let you play all the latest games (it has waveless booting) and it is safe on XBL (as long as your game backups are good).
