Feel like a total idiot but here is where I am

-Installed sodorless adapter and x3 ce
-Saw xecuter screen
-Connected laptop to xbox and accessed http screen
-flashed with 256 evox m7 bios
-It appeared to successfully complete and shut off console
-I rebooted and saw frag
-I tried to press both buttoms for backup bios several times with no luck

Have I totally screwed up? How do I recover now? I would greatly appreciate any assistance

Why flash the Evox M7?

Try booting from all 256k Banks. One of them will give you the FlashBIOS screen again. This time, get the right BIOS and make sure you flash it to a 1MB Bank.

Using the external switch, I have tried all of the 256k banks with the same outcome. Power on after each one results in 3 on/off flashes of the chip, red display on the external switch, and frag on the front buttons. I also tried to access the backup bios bank by pressing both power/eject with no difference. The video screen shows just black in all attempts. The mod chips are all lit up though so I think they are correct...especially since they were working before. Is there any way to either boot the box with a cd/dvd or access the backup bank via another method? Any assistance is greatly appreciated.

Why flash the Evox M7?

I had a previous chip and used this bios. Just wanted to bring it back to its previous state and didn't want any issues with my old harddrive. What is the best bios to use with this chip? Thanks.

What I don't understand is why you've lost all access to other banks. At the worst, the Evox M7 was a 512k BIOS, meaning you had another 6 (7 incl. backup ROM) to boot to.

If you're getting a FRAG on all banks, check your soldering again.

The bios I used was 256k. I am using a board that came stock with all the sodering in place and I am using the Xdapt3r 1.0-1.5 soderless adapter. I believe that the board I am using is v1 because it has a conextant chip and has a fan on top of a heatsink inside. Anyway, The Xdapt3r chip has all blue lights and 1 green...no red. When I plug in the x3 ce, I get the single red light on the bottom and the red on the external bank selector.

So, my question is where in regsrd to the sodoring should i be looking for a problem?

I have reseated the sodorless adapter and now I am getting 3 blue lights and 1 small red light when I power it on. I checked a few diagrams and posts and it seems to be unclear. So far, it doesn't make a difference but just wanted to clarify which one is it (3 blues or 3 blues + 1 red) for a successful install. Thanks.

the blues on the chip say its fully working, the red means flash protect is disabled

ok, well is there reason that you can think of where the power+eject doesn't bring up the backup bios???

How can I recover this x3 without sending it back for reprograming?

Well, I think I am having the same issue that you are. Except I pretty sure where I screwed up. I flashe tha back up ROM, stupid mistake. I was tired and didnt realize what I was doing. So I think I may be hosed. I will have to try the Power and eject button reset thing and see if that halps, but again, I feel I hosed myself. If anyone knws if there is a fix to what I did let me know.

Ok, I didnt screw up that bad. I did the Power/eject, and the stock bios popped up. So I am good to go. Copied my first game yesterday, and it worked.

Rock On.:D
