well that has cleared up my doubt. would it be wise for me to get my cpu key before i update to 14717 on my slim??

As a safety measure I would, but you should already have it saved if you performed the reset glitch on that console

The RGH can be disabled by an MS update? I thought it wasn't possible for the slim due to it being already a 2 stage loader. Glad that it was fixed quickly. So this means that from now on, a patched MS update will be necessary in order to perform dash updates like JTAGS? or is it patched when the modified NAND is written?

Ive stated clearly NOT to update yet
I also stated clearly that you should get your CPU key NOW - don't wait for Demon.
only way to get the key is with a coolrunner then correct? any other way to do it? other than that question i got it now. sorry again being still new to all this i wanted to make sure i had it all in hand info wise. thanks for being patient uber.

current fix works fine if console has already been RGH and you have CPU Key with previous dash

edit what i mean is say i left the slim in the box not even hooked up till demon since i bought one for live i can use that one for now will i then be able to still extract the cpu key as long as when i first plug it in i didnt go online or put a brand new game in? or still i should not wait and get the key now. maybe that makes more sense instead of asking about the key itself. sorry i should have worded it better the first time. will not ask again either. uber you said not to wait for demon i just didnt know why if i was not even using the console and was hoping to know if maybe there could be a future issue getting the key but it would be a totally stock unused console. i know a few people who were hoping to do that same with their consoles also.

I have opened all my slims and got the cpu key before i updated on Ubers advice just incase i ever want to RGH or sell them on they might even have more value later in the year a stock machine with cpu key included
...Its not really a big issue having to open up your slim case if ya modding get used to it (or opening a lot of cases) but if you read what the mods say it clearly says you cant get your cpu key currently with the new dash update this will take more work = more work could be months after demons released you never know so just do what is adviced and get ya cpu key m8y make life easier and get 100 percent solid clad promise you will be able to peform the RGH ....i get that for sure i was hoping demon would have been here sooner than later i guess is all...

Just did my first rgh on my slim, all worked fine, pretty slow boot but there are things to get those better. Got my cpu key and looking forward to demon, much to find out now. Thx for the very fast solution for slim .
@ shakezilla i found the rgh process a lot of work and a lot to learn, i'm glad i already rgh'd before the comming demon process. Unless you are a pro i advice you to rgh now.
