2.6 CE Bios noob?

Hello,

I'm from the netherlands and I tried to flash my bios.
The 1st time I tried with m8_16.bin that i renamed to bios.bin .. The flashbios was flashing and the xbox went off. When i put him back on, he falls 3 times out and there is no screen at all.
Then i tried flashing with 4981.06_256k.bin that I allso renamed to bios.bin and added allso a dummy just as the 1st time. He was flashing and the xbox turned off.. as I put him on now.. het comes in the flashbios again, when i try to reflash the xbox says: no bios update found on cd

What am I doing wrong, and can I erease the 1st flash on bank 1?

First of all, what version is your Xbox - if it's a 1.6/1.6b, you must use the M8_16Plus BIOS. If's any other version use the X2 4983 BIOS.

What size is the BIOS file your trying to flash? If it's 256k, this'll be why it's not working - each bank is 512k in size, you need to flash a 512k or 1MB BIOS. If it's 512k, it will only flash bank1, if it's 1MB it'll flash both banks.

Get hold of X2 BIOS Manager (X2BM), and also the latest Cromwell BIOS. In X2BM, put Cromwell in banks 1 & 2, and your main BIOS in banks 3 & 4 - save this as a 1MB image. This is the image you need to flash. Cromwell will go on bank1, EvoX (if 1.6/1.6b!) will go on bank2. Once flashed, boot from bank 2.

I have version 1.6 but as said before.. my foult was that i loaded an 256k bios and Now i tried a 1mb bios on the chip and it works great..
But I think my 1st bank is f*cked up.. how can i go to the flash menu again.. beacouse when I start the xbox with bank 1 the power light starts blinking red and green and I get no signal on my tv..

you can flash it by using evolution... you can put 2 x 512KB BIOSES or 1MB BIOS... also you can use FLASH-X you can get it at the usual places...
