2.6 ce Problem I cant Solve

Right, firstly I made the mistake of doing 2 things at once, I buggered up the C drive and also flashed the 2.6 ce with an x3 bios. oops

I then reflashed the the chip with a programmer, managed that no problem, but as the c drive was buggered i have made a cd to boot from but it just wont boot from disc.

I made an evolutionx boot disc, i have tried burning to cdr, dvdr, and cdrw but im getting error code 16 everytime.

I dont get the xecuter logo either which i thought was strange although the error code 16 is using a different font and style.

Please can someone help me as im struggling to get it to boot. is it possible that the bios is not looking to boot from cd and only the c drive? im stumped

Right, I have re flashed the chip and i get "xecuter 2 config live loading ...."

then i get the flubber screen

then the xbox logo (no rocks my box though)

but now im getting error code 13. both with and without a evox disc in.

hope you can help, thanks

The list of error codes is in my sig. It is a generic dashboard problem. What else has been done to this Xbox?

you also need to FTP the X2 INI file across to the harddrive, in order to point the X2 bios as to what dashboard to boot, and where to find it.

open the ini file, and it will explain itself.

Once the bios is loaded (Even before you FTP across the INI file), you should be able to boot from an autoinstaller disk - if it does not read it then try a different brand of CDw, CDrw, Dvd - or plus r... etc,

Basically i had a very old version of unleashx on the dash, i didnt like it all that much so i deleted EVERYTHING on the c drive and replaced it with EVERTHING from my mates c drive which had avalaunch on it.

That didnt work, i dont know why but it wouldnt boot.

I then tried to flash the bios and used a x3 1meg bios.

I then realised that i had been very stupid and should have left it alone.

I got a programmer and flashed with flashbios, and from there i flashed with the latest x2 bios.

Now when it boots i get the xecuter config live loading, followed by the flubber and xbox logo (without rox my box) and then the error 13.

I assume the bios is ok as i have flashed a couple of times and it seems to go through without any problems. Im not sure why i dont get the rox my box but i do get the config live loading.

I have a verbatim cdrw and a thomson drive, i will try another brand if you think that would solve the problem.

As im getting the error 13 im unable to ftp anything let alone the config.ini as the boot disc wont work.

Any other ideas or thoughts, thanks

Don't take this the wrong way, but since you don't seem to have a solid grasp of what is going on you should find an auto installer like AID 3 or Slayers, burn it to a CD/DVD and put that in your drive. Then, there should be something along the lines of rebuild new hard drive. That should get your Xbox back to Microsoft stock, as well as put a dashboard of your choice on there. I personally have never used an auto installer so I can't tell you which one is better or anything like that.

Thanks for all your help.

It turned out that the chip was flashed ok and that it was just bad media.

I used a 100mb dummie file at the beginning and it booted fine.

I have a similar thing happening...

When I boot with X2 5035, I get the "xecuter 2 config live loading" message, then NO flubber screen/MS bootup, just a black screen that goes to nothing else.

Do I need to rebuild this drive?

#10, I would try to re-flash the chip using the parallel port (LPT) programmer and Xecuter2 BIOS Manager it iXia.

Okay, I actually reflashed it, network flashing with FlashBIOS 3.03 works fine, it erases and rewrites to the chip just fine, and when you start with FlashBIOS in Bank 1, it comes up with the FlashBIOS screen perfectly.

However, when I switch to Bank 2, it gives the "Xecuter Live Config" message, then goes to absolutely nothing.

I've also tried the Evox m8 bios in Bank 2 as well, same story.

In case the hard drive needed to be rebuilt, I downloaded Auto Installer Deluxe 3.0, burned it to a DVD-R that works in my Phillips DVD-ROM XBox drive, but it won't boot when I start the XBox.

Any suggestions at all?

No, it's the original hard drive. I don't even get a flubber/XBox logo screen. Just black screen after the "Xecuter Config Live" message.

I haven't gotten anywhere to be able to transfer the x2config.ini to the XBox yet, nor have I been able to install a dash yet.

Got the biso from Xbins, yes. Hard drive is plugged in, both the power cable and the IDE cable. I can hear both the DVD-ROM and the hard drive, spinning up, but nothing happens.

Used Auto Installer Deluxe, added the dummy file to make it about 1.5 GB, burned it onto a DVD-R (Imation, which has always worked in my other Samsung DVD-ROM XBox), and started the XBox with the disk in the drive....still nothing.
