Ok guys...so I took an old v1.0 xbox motherboard that had a bad flash on it or something since it doesnt like to display audio OR video....and i bought an xecuter 2.6CE and a programmer from system-mods....i installed everything accorinding to their tutorial correctly...rechecked my D0 (did the n00b bottom friendly point) and thats secure and IS the correct point to solder onto...and ive also tried putting flashbios on bank 2 instead of bank one and a bios (x2_4983.67) on the banks to test it out....flipped all the switches as necessary but it STILL persists to frag when the modchip is turned on....when its turned off...the LED stays green but doesnt display any audo or video....any thoughts anyone??? this is driving me insane!!!!

PS - this is the tutorial i followed:
http://www.hackthebox.net/xecuter26/

supplied on system-mod's website...also i re-checked my LPC connections and theyre all solid

if you have a 2.6 you should have 4 banks. flash 1 and 2 with flashbios and 3 and 4 with your bios that your gonna use

There are only two banks on a 2.6, they are both 512k.

Both 1needforspeed and Fantmx are correct depending on how you look at it. The X2 chip has a 1MB chip that can be divided into 4 256KB banks but only 512KB areas can be selected for booting. I've got an explanation in another thread, I've received good feedback on it.

For all practical purposes, the X2.x has two banks. You can only choose to boot from two banks, and if you flash with a 256k bios, you will get a frag. There is no point in saying the X2 has 4 banks, because the user cannot choose from four banks.

For practical purposes, I agree it only has two banks since you can only select from two read points. But as soon as someone opens up X2BM to try and create a BIOS for FlashBIOS they're going to see 4 banks listed. Same with FlashX. It is a point of confusion for many, just trying to get everyone on the same page.

Edjumakate the masses!
