This is my 6th xbox i've modded and so far, its been a pain in the a$$. Its a version 1.4 with the 2.6 chip. I soldered in the pin header and the Red/Green/Gray wires, but when i start it with the chip enabled, it FRAG's. I've checked the connections and they all seem to be solid. The blue LED light on the chip does light up also. With the chip off, its been fine. I just wanna get rid of the FRAG so i can flash the dang thing. Any ideas? This thing has got my stumped. Thanks!

Check your soldering again, make sure you didn't bridge any points or burn any traces. Also make sure the wires are completely seated in the chip and switches.

Ok, tested all the soldering points and they still seem solid. The LEDs on the external switch are all lit up, and on the chip itself, there is one red LED and one Blue LED lit up. What does that tell me? Thanks!

I've never seen the red LED on the 2.6 chip before - I thought there was only one LED - are the 2 LEDs side-by-side?

If so, and one is red, and the other is blue, then I'd assume the 2.6 chip isn't installed right. Red usually means danger! (then again, if the chip is switched off, the switchbank LED goes red - apart from that.....)

No, the red and blue lights are not side by side. They are in different locations. Still getting the frag. I've tried the solderless adapter, FRAG. Tried the pin header install, still FRAGs. Something is screwed up!

Sorry, but let me clarify, the red light is on the Xapt3r solderless adaptor. There is one blue LED that is lit up on the chip, 3 blues on the Xapt3r and a red one. Hope that helps. Still FRAGs, grrrrr. Bad chip?

I'll do the voltage checks today or tomorrow and let you know. Now, if i understand this right, the D0 point should not be the problem because of the FRAG? Whats the chances that I have a bad chip?

You are correct, the D0 point is not the problem. I don't think it is a bad chip. It sounds like a problem with the install. Did you check the wires going to the switch?

Are the lights the same as on a X3?

If they are then the red is flash protect and there should be two blue...

3.3v and 5v lights.

I'll check on that. But... I'm thinking it's what the other guys are saying... soldering.

If you check out the second link in my sig it'll go through how to use a multimeter...

On a X3 but... the idea's the same:)
