2.6 install looks good - boots to MS dash with mod enabled

2.6 install looks good - boots to MS dash with mod enabled. Not fragging all points look clean - led on chip seems to be functional ( blue when chip on ) - leds on switch seem functional as well.

Tried both banks and still boots to msdash. Could it be bad chip - or not flashed with flashbios from factory?

Your xbox will boot to ms dash if your D0 point is not soldered correctly - Check this very closely to see if it is soldered correctly and cleanly.

If it didn't have flashbios it would frag. If the chip is bad it would also frag. If your soldering on the D0 point looks good, check the wire itself with a multimeter. It is possible that the wire is pinched or broken.

I pulled the mobo and checked the D0 solder joint as well as tested the continuity of the cable and both are good. I went as far as resoldering the D0 joint. Still getting same responce on the xbox - It boots to MSdash with chip enabled/disabled as if the chip wasnt even there. I dont know if its normal but it seems that on bootup the screen flashes the color of the FLASHBIOS screen just before displaying the xbox logo ( maybe it always does this ).
Checked all other solder joints and whole pin header looks good.

Any other ideas? got it from SMT and they seem to be NOSHOW as of late.

Also checked the D0 wire vs the alt D0 point and there is continuity there as well. Problem cannot be related to this connection.

Ive had bad D0 joints in the past and xbox would FRAG.

Check the switch itself. Check both the on/off and bank selector switches. Also check the wires that go between the chip and switches.

At least the on/off works because i get red/green led on switch and led on chip turns blue when on.

I will look closely at the bank selector switch.

You were right on the money. All the switches are dbl pole single throw. The enable/disable switch was only working on one pole (which is why the LED was working) the second pole was fubar. I made a makeshift fix until I can get a new switch (would be nice if System-mods sent one out but not likely).

Any ideas on where I can buy just the external switch?

I think most of the sellers sell just the switch. You may have to contact them, as it may not be listed on their web site.
