2.6 Lite, FTP issue

I bought a used Xbox version 1.1 from Electronics Boutique. I installed a xecuter 2.6 Lite with an xaptr 3 wireless adapter. All that appears to be fine, when I booted up the Xbox (bios bank 1) chip enabled, it went to the Cromwell screen. I then flashed the bios (http method) with X2 5035, that went fine.

I restart the Xbox, and it shows "loading X2 live config", then goes to a flubber type screen and at the bottom it shows breifly "X roxs my box", then goes the Xbox menu.

At this point I try to FTP to my xbox, it says the address is 192.168.1.101, however flashftp won't connect to the xbox. (I know how to connect, I have another xbox with a Xenium which all works fine.) So, I can't figure out how to get EvoX onto this Xbox.

I just for the heck of it put a backup game into this xbox, and it works. What the heck is up with that? Any clue what i'm doing wrong? Is it possible the previous owner changed the password from the normal "xbox" "xbox"?

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciate.

There is no FTP server in the X2 bios. You have to load a dashboard with FTP enabled.

Do you know of a tutorial to do that? I don't seem to find one. Sorry, I've only ever used Xenuim chips in the past.

Download Slayers Auto Installer or AID 3 and burn them to a disc. Boot with those in the drive and you should be all set.

I downloaded Slayer 2.6 and it says to backup the EEprom and HD key as well as the C and E partitions by FTp to my PC. I still can't figure out how to FTP to my PC off this Xbox. I also made an EVOX boot disc, and booted to EVOX dashboard. That seemed to work fine, however I have a router on my system at home, and with the EVOX dashboard settings it was set to static IP of 192.168.100.10 which trying to FTP with FlashFTP wouldn't connect to that address. I tried to change it in settings on EVOX so it wouldn't be a static IP so the router could assign an IP, and I couldn't get it to change. I changed it off static, but there was no way to save that change. It would just revert to static. HELP!!! I'm afraid to use the Slayer because I can't back anything up in advance.

You loaded evolutionX off of a disc, so there is no way to change the settings. I would think Slayers would have a built in FTP server. What are you setting for the username and password? Usually they are both "xbox" all lowercase without the quotes.

I think I might need to edit the ini file under evox before I make the DVD so it will allow my router to set the IP address. Does that sound correct?

Yup. If you do that you will have to make a new xISO to burn it. You can do that with Qwix.
