2.6 New chip- boots to M$ dash instead of Flashbios

Ok, so i got my xbox back from being modded at a repair place, i know they do their job right cuz i knwo someone who has multiple xboxs modded their. So i thnk the connections are good But when i boot up it does teh intro and Xecuter2 appears at the bottom, but after that it goes to the M$ dash, ive tried CDRW, CDRs and then 'your xbox cannot read..." i have the switches at chip on, fp off, bank 1 or 2 netiehr work. and hwats the deal with hte LED switch, i was told to keep it to the right (off) any help on getting the Flash BIOS screen instead of the M$ dash?

sounds like they flash over it (flashbios ) with x2 bios are you puting a dash on xbox if yes get a download of flash2 put it in to your apps folder on xbox restart xbox find flash2 and flash the second bank useing that wilth flashbios

I think I have a similar problem as mbray. I just got my box back from an ex-coworker. He modded the box for me. It is a version 1.1 with the 2.6 CE. I am brand new to this so the problem seems kind of perplexing. When the xbox is powered up, the indicator lights on the front of the box light up fine, chip enabled, bank 1 on and flash protect on. However, the box just boots into the M$ dash. Not really sure what to check to see if this is modded correctly. I also tried to ftp into the box to check files but can't get in. Any suggestions?

on start up dose it have x2 bios or evo8 on screen it will not boot to anything to you get your hands on to a dash try and get "auto installer delux" or slayer evox installer download then burn it to dvd or cd-rw

I have the slayer auto installer but the box refuses to read it. I tried cd-r, cd-rw, and dvd-r. Not sure if there was something I was doing wrong. On start up it just does the standard xbox screen.

After reading a few more posts, I wonder if the wire on the D0 might be the problem? If this might be a possibility, please let me know. I'll have to get some torx drivers and check it out. Thanks in advance for your help.

i take its a x2.? chip
if you flick the bank switch to bank 2 do you get flashbio screen
as well if you do not have a bios it will go to ms dash and will not play backups

The chip is the xecuter 2.6CE. I have tried both banks with no success. Am I correct in assuming that in order to flask the bios I just need to flip the switch for bios protect to off and then try the slayer installer?

Ok, just got done ripping the box open. I checked the D0 wire and it was flattened. Wasn't sure if this was a problem so I snipped the wire and resoldered it to the location. I replaced everything and tested it and still nothing. Only boots into ms dash and no sign of a flashbios. No clue what to try next.

if some ease has a xbox with the same chip do a hotswap or you can order a programer to flash bios to chip

You mentioned earlier that there is a Xecuter2 below the xbox logo when you boot. This means that there is a X2 bios flashed already on your chip. What you need now is a dashboard to be able to ftp files. Like mentioned on the above post, run the Slayer's auto-installer to install dashboard and other applications, You said that you tried that already and it didn't work so try different brand of dvd-r.

ok thanks everyone, ill take it back to the guy and get him to flash the bank with flash2, is this all ill need to get started? and the CDR, CDRW and DVDR problems of not being read, will htey be fixed when i get hte flash 2 bios?
