2.6 on 1.0 FRAGs, confirming what *doesn't* need to be checked

Had another boned mod install brought to me for attempted recovery. The person doing the pin header install totally hosed the underside D0 pad in the middle of the trace, no continuity between the two end points. The pad was now just a small black hole. I first worked at reconstructing this trace with a wire from the two end points-

Had to temporarily remove that yellow capacitor to get at the left end. I then attached the D0 wire to one end of the repair I ran. As best as I could tell the repair and D0 wire were solid. I did not have the time or the rest of the Xbox to attempt a boot. I returned the mobo to the person that brought it to me and said good luck.

Got an email today that the box is working fine on the MS chip, but if the mod is enabled the box FRAGs. Three boots then red/green. Now, is it at all possible this is a D0 problem, or does this part actually seem ok? From what I've gathered D0 is more or less the "switch" (ground, really) that will enable the mod so I think my work is good. The pin header joints put on by the box owner looked crappy but still appeared to have a join between LPC holes and pins. I didn't bother to touch these up while I had the board, I'm wondering if this is all that needs to be done. Searches I've run have generally resulted in "check solder joints" but I want to be able to say that I've fixed the difficult f-up, the owner can deal with the other problem he created.

BTW, the chip is still (or should be) virgin with FlashBIOS 3.01/3.03 I assume. No flash has been able to be attempted, so unless something got whacked on the X2 board this isn't an X2 board or BIOS issue.

A D0 will not give a frag, so your work should be good. Sounds like a problem elsewhere in the install.

Thanks. I'll pass word for him to retouch the pin header.
