have you tried playing around with the LPT port settings? Might want to give that a go. Relating to Sticky's pictures, I think that you'll have to enable "show pictures" in your IE (assuming you use IE). Can be found under Tools, Internet Options, Advance.

simple ass mistake i made, but worth mentioning- took me about 30 minutes to figure out why i was so stupid-

do you have it hooked up to your printer port? it only draws power from your USB port... seriously 30 minutes of cursing and looking for docs

Yes, documentation seems to be lacking in this industry.
It does not seem to matter who's modchips or bios programmers you purchase, nothing in the way of documentation is provided.

It then takes the skills of a covert operative to locate information that has been produced, (in most cases) by people who consider everyone to have degrees in cryptology.

WHY OH WHY do the manufacturers NOT produce good quality documentation.

Well oh well, I think it's about time that we should get a .... petition together for the owner/administrator of this site to setup another thread regarding documentation :). I'm 100% agreed with you about documentation that should accompany the hardware. I was surprise when recieving the hardware wihtout any documentation in it. You can get documentation for a $10 electronic item from Kmart and yet ........

Hi

I had a similar problem. I have a 2.6 lite chip that requires the switch to be connected to the chip. Once I connected the front switch, the chip lights came on and I was able to flash it.

Hope this helps

OK, hope this work. For the programmer to recognise, you'll have to do this:
1. Plug the programmer directly into your LPT/Printer port.
2. Don't worry about the red wire that came with your programmer.
3. Use the supplied USB cable, plug one end into your USB port and the other into your programmer. This I think is to supply power to the programmer and the the chip.
4. Install the chip onto your programmer
5. Plug the external switch into your chip. The external switch is supplied as part of the 2.6CE. You have 2.6 ce Lite so I'm not sure if they're the same or not. The basic idea here is to put the chip into Flash Enable mode for the Programmer to recognise that there's a chip. Without enabling Flash Protection OFF, the programmer won't see your chip.
6. Use BIOSManager to Flash your chip.

Let us know if things does not work.

i think i may have the same issue... i suspect i caused it by plugging the D0 wire in the wrong hole.

Does anyone know if there is a way you can test the chip?

i wouldn't be your d0; this post is for the PROGRAMMER and x2.6 chip, no use of xbox at all. i'm leaning more and more to hot swaping or buying a new chip.
