2.6 Wire Install on v1.0 board

hey, just tried to install the 2.6 on a 1.0 board using the wire install.
when the chip is off, works fine
when its on, its on off on off frag.
ive figured this is a soldering problem but can anyone help and say which lead it would be that is wrong?

The problem is with the LPC soldering. Recheck and do it again. Make sure you have the correct colour wires in the right places!

double checked.
wires are definitely in the right place.
so if it is soldering, the only thing i can think of is that my soldering must be too untidy and going over one of the tracks.
i can see a little grey residue (not solder before any wise cracks come up... like.. a darker grey)
so if this was some very small amount of solder that had dribbled on, is there anything that will bring it up easily and clean that part of the board?

Hopefully you've got some desoldering braid and a multimeter, coz you're going to need them!
