2.6 Works, but...a few odd things...

So last night I installed an Xecuter 2.6 on a 1.6B Xbox. This isn't the first time that I've modded an Xbox, but it's been a while. Everything seemed to go very smoothly. Connections were proper, no solder splashes -- nice and neat. When I turned it on the first time, I got that hideous on/off/on/off/on problem. I looked at everything. Checked and rechecked. Nothing wrong. Turned it back on -- works fine, and has since.

Almost.

I'm not getting any activity on the HD and LAN lights. What could cause this, and could it be related to my earlier problem? Any insight would be greatly appreciated. I'm afriad to take it apart again just in case it decides to stop working again.

I think you're going to have to take it apart. Not much choice in the matter, unless you want to run the risk of having something permanently damaged later on.

How do you mean? I mean, I did take it apart. It stopped working. Then, it magically started again. I can't seem to find any problems with it! What should I be looking for? The only thing I can imagine is that the red/green/gray connector is faulty, but that seems unlikely.

You mean you took it apart again? Did you check all d0/lan/hdd wires were intact and in the right places?

Also if things are magically working (with no intervention by yourself), it's not good. If it can resolve itself, it can undo itself too.

I've notice the on/off switch for the lights is sometimes marked wrong. Have you tried it in on and off.
