- pin header install (have touched up 3 or 4 times now)

- 2.6CE flashed with FlashBIOS3.0.3/4983 (also tried new chip with both FlashBIOS 3.0.1 and 3.0.3)

- all pins showing correct voltage

- boots fine with chip off (clock is reset after failed chip boot)

I'm no n00b at this... I've done 20+ boxes without an issue and even repaired 3 or 4 for people...

pin 2 and 12 have continuity (both ground) but I've found that sometimes 2 and 6 will have it for a few secs, then it goes away... then 6 and 12 will have it, then go away... then all 3 will have it, then go away (all with the power unplugged)

should pins 2/6 or pins 6/12 EVER have continuity?!?!

any help would be GREATLY appreciated!

well, just took the header pin out and did a wire install, still fragging with the chip on... :-\

again, the box boots fine with the chip off (although the clock is reset after a failed chip boot)...

I've modded 20+ boxes and have never had this much trouble... thinking about giving the guy his box back and telling him it's incompatible...

any ideas my friends?

I've tried two different 2.6CE switches with the same results...

Could it be possible I have 2 bad switches?

Just to make sure, I'll double check both switches used for testing tonight when I get home...

Thanks!

home on dinner break

just checked both switches for continuity and everything checks out fine... even used both switches to boot a friend's modded box with a 2.6CE with no problems...

running out of things to check...

If you are looking for a high res picture to see if you have damaged anything I wouldn't bother. You said it boots fine with the chip off, so it has something to do with your install or the chip. Do you have another chip you could try in this box?

thanks for all your help guys, but I've given up on this 1.0 as I just don't have time to troubleshoot any further...

I'm returning the box (unmodded) to the guy along with the money he paid for chip/hd... told him if he traded the 1.0 box or got a new one I'd be glad to mod it for him...
